Traffic Engineering Project Manager | Hybrid | Hauppauge, NY
VHB’s growing Hauppauge, NY team is looking for a Traffic Engineering Project Manager to join our Transportation team. Together, we work to improve mobility, enhance communities and economic vitality, and balance development and infrastructure needs with environmental stewardship. Responsibilities:
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
- Strong writing skills for proposals, technical reports and memoranda
- Ability to present at public meetings as part of project outreach
- The ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
- An understanding of effectively overseeing multi-disciplinary projects and teams
- Experience managing projects and marketing transportation services
- Motivated to lead and mentor junior team members
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study required
- Master’s degree a plus and may substitute for 1 year of experience
- 8-11 years of professional experience in traffic/transportation engineering required
- Experience with Long Island, NY region transportation projects preferred
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure required
- Understanding of Vissim and Synchro preferred
- Experience with SEQRA preferred
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Hauppauge, NY is $120,000-170,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
