The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervising Psychologist 1 (Clinical) to join our Young Adult Services (YAS) team.
Our mission is to improve the lives of young people by providing the highest quality services possible. We do this by forming a partnership with the individual, their family, identified significant persons and with the other community service providers. By doing so we create a “community of care” that fosters mutual respect and individualized client-centered treatment.

Schedule: Full-time, 1st shift, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

THE ROLE:
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Work with a multi-disciplinary treatment team providing recovery oriented, age and developmentally appropriate clinical services to young adults with clinically complex and high-risk behaviors including developmental, psychosexual and trauma histories;
Be responsible for developing and implementing behavioral support plans and training to direct care staff;
Provide individual, group and family therapy when needed;
Utilize DMHAS initiatives in the provision of treatment, i.e., Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT), Attachment Regulation Competency (ARC), Trauma Treatment, Person Centered Planning, etc.;
Participate in case conferences, critical incident reviews, trainings, staff meetings and supervision; and
Have supervisory oversight of the Psychologists working at multiple locations within the Network.

The WCMHN's mission is to provide a comprehensive and effective recovery-oriented system of mental health and addiction services that promotes self-sufficiency, dignity, cultural sensitivity and respect.
Young Adult Services (YAS) was developed to help young adults transition successfully from the Department of Children & Families (DCF) to the adult mental health system and to achieve the necessary skills for adulthood. YAS currently serves the most vulnerable, high acuity, high need young adult population in the state who are between the ages of 18 and 25. YAS programs have been developed at community mental health agencies throughout Connecticut. Our goal is to provide the types of supports our clients will need to make their journey to adulthood successful.

Qualifications & Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
A Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology and two (2) years of postdoctoral experience as a licensed clinical psychologist.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license to practice psychology in Connecticut.
