The Role:



As the Nursing Director, you will coordinate available resources to deliver professional patient care and services consistent with SJHS-HC standards. Under the guidance of the VP, CNO, you'll manage and direct patient care and services in your designated areas, assuming 24-hour responsibility. You'll drive growth through creativity and innovation while demonstrating competency in communication, leadership, and problem-solving.



What You'll Do:




  • Resource Coordinator: Efficiently utilize resources to provide quality patient care in alignment with fiscal and organizational standards. Delegate authority appropriately to ensure optimal management.


  • Age-Specific Care Expert: Demonstrate competency in age-specific skills for diverse patient groups, from neonates to geriatrics, incorporating various factors into the nursing process.


  • Fiscal Management/Resource Utilization:


  • Strategic Planner: Develop realistic budgets for capital equipment and resources to fulfill department and organization-wide functions.


  • Resource Optimizer: Control resources effectively, monitor systems, and implement changes to enhance productivity and patient care.


  • Human Resource Management:


  • Team Builder: Facilitate individual and team development, removing obstacles to improve performance, and motivate staff.


  • Effective Recruiter: Recruit, hire, and train staff to meet patient, departmental, and organizational needs. Conduct appraisals and feedback in line with policies.


  • Quality Assurance:


  • Performance Improver: Monitor departmental activities, identify trends, and take action to enhance performance and maintain quality control.


  • Safety Advocate: Assure a safe environment for patients and staff, taking effective actions to meet safety standards.



What You'll Bring:




  • Educational Background: Graduate from an accredited nursing school or program; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within 18 months of hire; Master's Degree preferred.


  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a clinical staff nurse and 3 years of healthcare managerial experience in a similar acute care setting.


  • Licensing: California Registered Nurse License upon hire.


  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of speaking effectively before groups.


  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret medical orders, gather data, and make informed decisions based on environmental assessments.


  • Leadership Ability: Proven competency in coordinating multiple projects and driving organizational success.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
