Job Description

The Senior Manager Field Planning is a role which will aid in facilitating and leading the collaboration efforts needed for the success of Field Planning for AbbVie Patient Services Field Reimbursement Managers (FRM). The Senior Manager Field Planning is the lead for FRM Field Planning size and structure and executing appropriate communications to our FRM Field leader colleagues, as well as home office employees, along with continuously contributing creative ideas. The role is also responsible for acting as liaison between Franchise FRM Teams, Commercial Operations, Center of Excellence, IT, Training, OEC, and Legal. This position influences cross-functional teams to create and optimize field size and structure for FRM teams.

The position is a part of the Field Planning & Analytics Team which drives field force effectiveness by optimizing our sales force size and structure, ensuring our IC designs are driving the right behavior, and ensuring our call plans, field tools and operations provide our field teams with what they need to drive the business in their markets. This position reports into the AD Field Planning & IC, Enterprise.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality and timeliness of key deliverables and embrace the idea of participating in workstreams, acting as the key point of contact.
  • Effectively prioritize across competing projects, maintaining constant flow of communication with customers and demonstrating strong project management abilities. Such projects include leading FRM Field Planning size and structure projects, owning pan-FRM standardization for sizing & structure projects, acting as the formal liaison with APS Operations & APEX partners for FRMs.
  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity to enhance/improve existing process/outputs FRM Field Planning.
  • Effectively manage vendor partnerships (timelines, budget, communications) with specific projects and initiatives.
  • Serve as liaison between Therapeutics Operations and Analytics, Business Technology Solutions, Training, and Franchise teams to partner in the design, deployment, maintenance and communications of field planning solutions.
  • Provide reporting and analytics on Field Planning to business Director and Associate Director level stakeholders.
  • Use experience and knowledge in data sources, analytic methods, and business rules to educate stakeholders on the value of analytics to guide field strategic planning priorities.
  • Own cross functional projects in capability with minimal supervision by manager.
  • Own cross franchise best practice sharing in the execution of key solutions, system enhancements and changes.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies and plans to maximize adoption of initiatives.
  • Proactively recommends improvements to streamline current processes and reduce cycle time, ensuring consistency.
  • Proactively engages with the business and the users to provide field planning/business process recommendations and gather feedback.

Additional Role Responsibilities:

  • Work independently to process information and data to create field size and structure activities, trends, and projections regarding FRM field planning, efficiencies, and possible improvements.
  • Ability to present modeling and analytics to sales leaders in a concise direct manner ensuring understanding and ability to enable decisions.

Qualifications

  • BA, BS degree required. BA/BS required to ensure effective understanding and application of business concepts.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in project management (including leadership of a significant cross-functional project), marketing or sales operations or information technology.
  • 3 plus years analytical and/or Commercial operations experience required, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SQL, Snowflake
  • Preferred knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, compliance regulations and standards
  • Able to manage multiple tasks/priorities simultaneously with sense of urgency.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to clearly and confidently articulate complex and difficult concepts to a broad client base, including senior leadership, sales leadership, and other high-level contacts.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, in a matrix environment, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders (verticals, COE, brand teams).
  • Self-starter with strong focus on internal and external customers and operations
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies and further integrate data to better serve business needs.
  • Seeks out diverse and different ideas and fosters collaborative team environment.
  • Experience in developing, deploying, and managing effective IT systems, quality control procedures, and comfort in directing low level analytics.
