Logistics Coordinator - Decatur, IL
Logistics Coordinator – ADM Logistics – Decatur, IL This is a non-exempt level position. Position Summary: The Logistics Coordinator position will work alongside the customer service team and act as a primary point of contact for their customer accounts. This position will be responsible for the day to day operations with each of their assigned accounts to ensure their transportation needs are met with a high level of service and communication. This role will also assist the sales team in onboarding new customers. Key metrics will include customer revenue / profit numbers, load count and set communication metrics. This position will report to the Senior Sales Manager and is based at our Decatur, IL North American Headquarters. Job Responsibilities:- Assist Account Management Team and Sales Team on day-to-day customer operations
- Work with Sales Team and Business Units to onboard new customer accounts
- Understand customer’s business and utilize knowledge and resources to provide customized solutions to each account
- Address and support customer challenges, opportunities and threats while considering their tolerance for transit time, cost, risk and market conditions
- Own all aspects of the customer relationship, acting as the primary point of contact, and manage customer’s logistics needs including rate quotations, order management, and customer reports.
- Elicit customer feedback to help guide future product and service offerings
- Train additional team members, as necessary
- Maintain working relationships with customers, including logistics consulting and cost reductions. Travel may be included.
- Track and report trends in customer accounts to management, including revenue and load count reports
- Development and tracking of key performance indicators and metrics
- Establish and meet individual goals and objectives relating to all aspect of the position
- Participate in department sales and operational meetings.
- Completion of customer tracking reports / usage of customer TMS systems
- Track and trace shipments, data entry into internal TMS required.
- Create development plan and work with manager to implement.
Job Requirements:- Excellent verbal communication skills with emphasis on email / telephone communications
- Ability to work on the customer’s schedules and timelines
- Quick communication
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Aggressive self-starter with keen negotiation skills in order to be successful in this role
- Knowledge of brokerage, third party logistics and freight forwarding is helpful
- Previous sales / account experience is strongly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as, Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint is required
- Knowledge of OPGO / APGO / Salesforce is helpful
- A college degree is preferred
- Ability to build strong internal and external relationships
- Ability to work alone or in a team environment
