Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/27/2026. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of general experience. This experience must be progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates your ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the File Clerk position. Examples of general experience would typically include, but are not limited to: knowledge of multiple systems and current computer technology and exceptional skills in utilizing imaging and uploading applications; knowledge of medical terminology and medical record file systems, procedures, record retention, and procedures relating to the transfer and other disposition of hard copy records; basic knowledge of regulations governing the release of information pertaining to patient confidentiality, and confidentiality of patient information; knowledge of filing sequence of both administrative and medical records is necessary to properly index and upload information; skill as a qualified typist/keyboarder required to perform data entry responsibilities; operate personal computers and computer terminal equipment and troubleshoots minor problems; demonstrate courteous, compassionate, caring, and respectful behavior when interacting in response to internal and external customer questions in person and/or on the telephone. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 2 years above high school. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond high school.
