The Administrative Assistant 1 will perform office support and clerical work for the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
In order to maintain a welcoming environment for prospective students, students, community members, and visiting university staff, the duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provide administrative support for the dean, program director and faculty to ensure smooth daily operations
- Monitor departmental expenditures, process purchase requisitions and assist in tracking the operating budget to ensure fiscal alignment
- Coordinate travel arrangements and process travel vouchers for the dean and faculty
- Organize and track the faculty annual review lifecycle
- Manage hiring process and onboarding for new adjuncts, faculty and staff
- Provide excellent customer service, including telephone, e-mail or in person inquiries
- Provides building coverage for receptionist in the shared rotation
- Actively participate in university activities
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have permanent appointment in an Administrative Assistant 1 New York State classified position (or be eligible for transfer) or be reachable for appointment on the current NY State Civil Service eligible list for Administrative Assistant 1.
OR
Candidates must have permanent appointment in an Administrative Assistant 1 New York State classified position (or be eligible for transfer) or be reachable for appointment on the current NY State Civil Service eligible list for Administrative Assistant Trainee 1.
OR
For Administrative Assistant Trainee 1 or 2: one year of permanent service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law.

NON-COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (NY HELPS):
Administrative Assistant 1, (Salary Grade 11) NO Traineeship / no coursework requirements:
Two years of experience in administrative support, which includes use of office software (e.g., email, word processing), provision of customer service, business writing, and/or office administration.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday - 9:00am - 5:00pm
Work Address: 1 Union Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY
Additional Information:
Salary: SG-11 $47,695 - $58,447
