Apply now for this exciting opportunity!</p><p style="color:!important"></p><p style="color:!important">The Automation Engineer II is responsible for leading or supporting design, installation, and qualification of new manufacturing equipment and <span style="font-size:inherit">improvement/optimization</span> of existing manufacturing equipment. The engineer in this role will also provide technical expertise to resolve manufacturing equipment and automation issues.</p><p style="color:!important"></p><p style="color:!important"><b><u><span style="font-size:inherit">Key Responsibilities</span></u></b></p><ul><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Collaborates with other plant functions and external vendors to support design of new manufacturing equipment or modify existing manufacturing equipment in accordance with regulatory, industry, and J&J standards.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Effectively and safely manages or supports projects to meet business objectives, including quality, financial, EH&S, and performance goals.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Supports qualification coordination and execution of new and/or improved manufacturing equipment and automation systems.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Leads or supports quality and safety investigations related to equipment. Achieves timely closure of corrective actions.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Supports evaluations of new technologies to improve process safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Prepares oral and written technical reports and project updates</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Coordinates training of personnel on equipment operation and maintenance</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Analyzes maintenance trends in area of responsibility to support asset investment strategy</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Organizes and presents Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR) for project scope and funding.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Adheres to J&J environmental and safety policies and guidelines.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Accountable to the Johnson and Johnson Standards of Leadership (Credo Values, customer/Marketplace Focus, Innovation, Masters complexity, and Organizational and People Development).</span></p></li></ul><p style="color:!important"></p><p style="color:!important"><b><u><span style="font-size:inherit">Experience and Education:</span></u></b></p><p style="color:!important"></p><p style="color:!important"><b><u><span style="font-size:inherit">Required & Preferred Skills:</span></u></b></p><ul><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment, OR Advanced Degree (M.S.) with relevant Internship or co-op experience</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Project management experience is preferred. PMP or similar product management credential is a plus.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Experience developing and maintaining engineering design documentation and drawings is preferred.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Experience with industrial control systems (PLC/DCS), servomotors, inspection and vision systems, instrumentation, SCADA networks, and/or MES systems is strongly preferred. Willingness to learn industrial control systems is essential. Programming/coding experience is preferred</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated industry is preferred. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and FDA CFR 21 Part 11 is helpful.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Lean and/or Six Sigma certification is preferred</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Strong problem solving skills</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="font-size:inherit">This position will be primarily located in Cornelia, GA but some onsite support in Athens, GA may also be required. 10% travel domestically may be required.</span></p></li></ul><p style="color:!important"></p><p style="color:!important">Johnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
