KBRs Aviation & Ground Systems Directorate provides Systems Engineering & Integration support to the Armys Aviation and Ground soldiers with project based and full-time personnel support services. As a Maintenance Technician supporting the Army Watercraft SLEP Program, youll dive into the handson upkeep and sustainment of Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) equipment on board Landing Craft, Utility (LCU) vessels stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, driving missioncritical readiness and reliability. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate equipment repairs of Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) equipment on LCU

  • Troubleshoot and repair of vessel SLEP equipment

  • Assist Army maintainers with maintenance on SLEP equipment

  • Work closely with logistics to order parts and equipment

  • Complete maintenance faults and tracks faults to closeout

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in manufacturing engineering or process engineering (Additional 8 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)

  • 2 to 4 years related engineering experience or Army Watercraft experience

  • At least 4 years of Ship Repair experience or Shipboard experience in Army/Naval Service.

  • Must be experienced and knowledge with all facets of Integrated Support for shipboard Hull, Mechanical and Electrical Systems (HM&E), Electronics Systems, Combat Systems or marine systems.

  • Must have a working knowledge of Army watercraft Standard items, General Specs for Overhaul of Surface Ships and familiarity with Army Ship Tech Manual.

  • Candidates must be a citizen of the United States of America and be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have the ability to read and interpret various ship drawings for SLEP Systems, Electronics Systems or Combat Systems.

  • Landing Craft Utility (LCU) experience as Watercraft Maintenance officer

  • Understanding of Army maritime operations and vessel operations

  • 8 years of ship repair experience

  • Knowledgeable with Landing Craft, Utility (LCU) Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) equipment

  • Army watercraft maintenance officer, vessel chief engineer, vessel assistant chief engineer
