Why Are You Concerned About Black America:
I am concerned about Black America for a multitude of reasons but one main one is that I think with all of the negative attention and focus given to one segment of our community there is an insidious dynamic creeping into the consciousness of America. Namely that racism is no longer an issue and that if we would only clean up the poor urban areas then racism would no longer be a problem. Secondly I believe there is an undercurrent of anger about race running right along side of the hope that was created from the Obama's election. I think as African Americans we have to continue to tap our spirituality to demonstrate a higher consciousness about the need to unite across all social barriers for the good of the country and the world. I am concerned that we not give up our spirituality and get consumed in materialism and resentment of White folks. I believe the country needs to qualities we have on spirituality, strength, creativity, integrity, making a way out of no way etc and that if we get consumed with materialism and resentment we will give our destiny away.

Pleased to have done several book signings about my book "Seeing Heaven in the Face of Black Men" People are responsive to message about spirituality as they understand more fully that spirituality is not simply about "turning the other cheek" but has a profound power to change minds and hearts and that science is proving this as well!!

Tod, I believe that we are more than conquerors. So were our forefathers. Let's keep the mainthing the mainthing. Education, teamwork, duplication and multiplication and we can't help but, be successful in what ever we undertake as a people. Life is so short, we must seek to accomplish our destiny while there is still time.
