Q&A With phil marlow

What's your favorite movie?
""IdleWild", "John Q" and the other one starting you and me."

Interviewed by Tinu Abayomi-Paul 11/25/08

What has life taught you?
"Life has taught me, first before taking on life challenges, one must first become knowledgeable of your enemy and then proceed cautiously."

Interviewed by Elise Roberts 09/16/08

What are you passionate about?
"Ms Melanie, at present I am passionate about the research I've been doing toward find my roots. It has taken me back as much as 200 years to West Africa to a tribe called Igbo whom claim they original escape from Israel when the Romans Invaded their country. According to history, the envasion was sent by our Hebrew god, Yahweh because his chosen people, Black Hebrews, had broken the covenant with Yahweh. With the spirit of my ancestors and my quest to find my Identity all has been quite a journey of tears, laughter and amazement. Knowing who you are and your purpose here is truly heavenly. We all can't be like Mike."

Interviewed by Melanie Ervin 09/15/08

If you could wave a magic wand in the black community...
"I would give back all that was taken from us before our captivity and brought to this strange land. I would wave pride, respect for self and others. I WOULD MAKE US ALL HEBREWS AGAIN, WORSHIPPING OUR GOD, YAHWEH."

Interviewed by DeShuna Spencer 09/12/08

What is one thing you want to do before you leave this earth?
"While approaching the age of 62 I would like to complete my journey back to my roots. While in search for my Identity I have covered approximately 200 years and have landed in the knowledge that I am Igbo from West Africa and if this is correct they claim they are descendants of Abraham, fleed from Israel after the invasion by the Romans. West Africa as they describe it, is not their home but a strange land. I have discovered that my people came her with the Torah, written in their hearts. I've discovered songs they sang before they were introduce to Christianity concerning people in the old testament. Our traditions are from the old testament, the Torah, meaning Instructions, is who we are and this statement is for all Blacks in the USA. The Torah says we were scattered to the four corners of the earth and cursed because we strayed from Yahweh our god. The prophesy about the dead bone is US. We are coming into the knowledge of self but slowly. Peace and Love."

Interviewed by Freya Sullivan Williams 09/04/08

Have you ever been treated unfairly if so, what did you do about it?
"I have been treated unfairly many time in my life but I have managed to ignore when possible and fight heads up if necessary. Obstacle can be moved, stepped on, knock down or even destroyed. One must learn to keep their heads up and their goal in sight."

Interviewed by Esther Pinkston 08/25/08

DO YOU LOVE YOURSELF?
"Strong question that deserve an answer and it could only be yes. However, it has not always been yes during my life time. When I was growing up white and light skinned was the norm, straight hair, etc. Upon graduation from high school and entering college my outlook upon my self changed due to my new enviroment. It was the time of "Saying it loud, I am black and proud. After hearing for a while it landed in my subconscious and became part of me in every thing I did. However, the love for light skinned sister still exist over darker skinned. Life was a struggle with color priority because my mother was light skinned and my father was dark skinned. Today I've become a new person where I have discovered my roots or Identity, I AM HEBREW and my culture and identity mean more to me than color or the social morals of others. I am comfortable in my new skin, Hebrew. Peace and Love"

Interviewed by SARA JOY EDGEMON 08/20/08

WHAT DOES FRIENDSHIP MEAN TO YOU?
"I would love to know what friendship mean because according to the definition they all fail to meet the meaning."

Interviewed by SARA JOY EDGEMON 08/19/08

Do you know who your are?
"What's in a name? Plenty and my name particular is totally European and obviously I am black. I've spent several years tracing my family roots and on the verge of discovering I am Hebrew, rooted in th Torah or Old Testament. Coming soon my Hebrew name will be Yusuf Ben Tachfin upon retirement within a couple of years, for this is when my life begins. Upon practicing the ways of the Hebrew ancestors, I find life very comforting with little or no stress. I have withdrawn from European social life of Money, sex, lies, deceit, etc. It was easy and not done over night. Finding your idenity is peace with self, comfort with self. You can be in the world without being off the world. Peace and love."

Interviewed by Dr. Ahmad Glover 08/19/08

What did you think about the CNN special and what inspires you in your life?
"Joleta, I am an old schooler whom earn a degree and sent my three boys to college with the help of my wife. Didn't have scholarships, low pay job, fresh off the farm and parent that knew the value of an education. times were hard then for sure. To say we've come a long way must be a lie because we are as a people worse off now than then. In twelve years no one drop out of my school, one girls became pregant, got 4 perfect attendance and never missed 30 days in twelve years. Now what is the problem with blacks? Could it be intergration? Could it be we lost true leaders like Malcoln X, Stokely Carmichael, James Brown or should we blame Dr. King for seperating us as a people of unity. Atleast back then we had our own as a people. Discrimination only exist in place you're not wanted. We don't own anything because we depend on our enemy."

Interviewed by Joleta Maxwell 08/14/08

How do you define yourself?
"Old, paper bag brown skin, intelligent, blessed like the chosen leader of the Torah, the old testament and a talented teacher working as a Purchasing agent soon to start my own school starting with preschool to 5th grade. Raise that child in the way you want him to go and he won't depart. Girl you fine."

Interviewed by Torisheda Agbofodoh 08/12/08

Why are whites trying so hard to opress blacks and hide our history?
"You sure ask the hard questions but here is another opinion based on family research. in the research I've covered over two hundred years. Majority of blacks fore parent came from West Africa and the 65% of these were Igbos. These Africans claim a Hebrew ancestory. If this being true then whites are doing what the old testment prophesy said. We are suffering from a curse by our Hebrew god, Yahweh. One would have to read the old testament to truly understand. First we need to find our identity for the answer to the present is lock up in the past. If one believes that they are Hebrew then removing the curse is easy and freedom will come totally. Trust Me on the latter. Love and Peace Che Love."

Interviewed by chivonne lawson 08/12/08

What do you like to do in your free time?
"When I have a few minutes of free time I love reading and talking about ancestor history. It is thrilling to learn one's Identity. It took several years to come to the conclusion that I am Hebrew/Israelite, an Igbo from West Africa via Israel. Fortune I was able to trace my history back to the year 1785 in Virginia and from the ports of Virginia to West Africa. Enjoy your career and Peace."

Interviewed by LaVita Buckner 08/07/08

Is your life about you?
"Yes, yes, yes my life is about me, for if there was no me, there would be no wife, 3 boys, their college education, being an example, sacrificing for their future, releiving the wife of the stresses of life, such as working, paying bills, raising children alone, etc. So with that said, you can see that many may consider me selfish. But my family, responsibilies, etc was totally laid upon me. My wife was smart and decided early she didn't need to be stressed out with alll those responsibilities. Better stop here before I tell my life history to the world. Love you."

Interviewed by Quiana Scott 08/01/08

I truly like myself now more than ever because I have discovered that I am Hebrew. With this knowledge I can be comfortable in my skin."

I have been very busy lately and just read your comments concerning"Nlack IN America". I found them to be refreshingly TRUE and Poignant. I too agree that we where better off before "Integration" we had a more solid Unity that flowed through and to all members of "Black" society and our concerns for each other where DEEP. We where owners of our business, transportation, homes, entertainment places, and even solved our own social problems within the community(child predators, molesters, wife beaters, etc). But alas integration coming was not meant to take away those vestiges of our economic, or social freedoms but to say to America as Dr. King put it we cannot use this Insufficuent Fund Check you have provided to the "Negro People" and do it constitutuinally. I truly do not believe that "separate but equal" could not be achieved if you TRULY made the effort to make all the institutions EQUAL and there in lies the rub my brother. I totally agree with you that because of Integration(cause we where always integrated, miscegenated, segregated, and isolated by force and no choice) we must maintain that message of Hope, in everything that we do our RAP, song and dance, style, faith and community values etc. each and everyday in all aspects
