Q&A With Sherry Capers

Why are you here?
"I am here to see if I can get together with a group of people to form a common bond. A bond that would lead us in the direction of helping our people in a number of ways....too many to get into right now."

Interviewed by Karen Hunter 07/23/08

Where do you plan to be in five year and how do you plan to get there?
"It is good to be asked this questions because it forces me to make a plan and see how it progresses. In five years I plan on being the director of a group home; possibly opening a second branch in another state. I stay prayerful in order to be divinely guided."

Do you believe music education is needed in public schools?
"Yes; It allows for use of the arts part of the brain. More importantly it exposes some of our children to a part of cultural arts that they may never have. If done properly Music Education can expose children to various types of music and allow them to learn about more than what they may hear at home."

Why Are You Concerned About Black America:
As I try to visualize the upward movement of my people. I am concerned about the lack of morals and lack of value for human life in some communities. The lack of respect given to our young people as well as the elders. It seems that at times our people have either forgotten or may never knew what a great people they are.
