Q&A With Karen Craig

What type of work do you do for the community?
"Most of the work I do for the community is education based. I tutor several children in various subjects. In the past I have given bass lessons to students of two high schools. I was able to focus on extending their knowledge of bass in ways their teachers could not. To put it in a nutshell, anything I learn I seek to share with others. Sharing knowledge gives me reason to establish connections with others."

Why Are You Concerned About Black America:
Black America has great potential and many of us are excelling, but sadly more of us should be doing so. We should be knowledgeable of our African ancestral history and our history here in the United States. Before we can go forward with our future we need to know our past so that we do not make the same mistakes. Most importantly I am concerned about Black America, because I feel I should gave back to my community like those who came before me.

Karen, Don't know if you remember me? If you do, it has been awhile. As you can see, I live on the East Coast now. What are you doing in Rockford these days?
