Why Are You Concerned About Black America:
I believe African America is a microcosm of all America. So as the American African goes, so goes the country. I believe African America is in the best position to provide leadership to the world African community and the world at large. We can take the best from our traditions and merge them with our incredible ability to adapt, as all cultures should do. I realize if the community is taken care of, the individual is automatically taken care of.

Candice, I think you are on the right track. I'm with you on the "I can do bad by myself thing". I'm not saying to alienate his father. If he wants to be there for him let him. But if that was the case he wouldn't have argued with you. My 10 year old son is from a previous relationship but we don't let that affect what I do for him. I have to admit, It's hard sometimes. I think that's part of our problem. We can't separate our jealousy or control, from doing what's right. This is definitely true of men. But I think you are headed in the right direction. Hold out for what you want. You will be glad you did. And tell me something about the accounting profession. I won't graduate until December 2010 but I think it is the right choice for me.
