My BlackInAmerica.com Profile
Why Are You Concerned About Black America:
I really like the series. Thanks Soledad. oh wait--I misread the question. I am concerned with my community because I am a part of it. Black America is America, to me. When you appreciate the fact that we all have things in common with people who share your ideas, hopes, fears regardless of color--then you can specifically comment on Black America. It is then that you realize eventhough you may have these things in common, your race is still a weighty issue. Race considered in spite of commonality is a fact that divides our society and usually points to racism. This is when I stand up and point out those who need to be educated. I guess I qualify as Black America's security alarm.

Guestbook Comments
In the begin, the reason for labeling all none Asian or Africans as White was control and strength in numbers. Today, we are simple carry on the biological race identities...because that's the way we alwasy do it. When we look at dead rates, life expectancy, rates of disease, marriage rates...these are all based on life choices (learned behaviors). Race has nothing to do with your value of human life. Your were born White, Black, Asian, or Hispanic, You learned what to eat, the importance of family, the value of exercise...these are not innate. Once we really know the difference between race and ethincity..."WE" are a powerful force right here in the good ole USA!
