My BlackInAmerica.com Profile
Why Are You Concerned About Black America:
I like what Tavis Smiley, Creflo Dollar and others have been able to do. Dwelling within bulwarks marked well I feel comfortable and welcome among my own. Who would have a problem with one who has found? Who would have a problem with one who likes to be among her own people? A social network for Black America says what about folk who develop arenas within which its own people can care, concern and actually help one another? I am concerned about Black America because Black America remains under the thumb of rules, dynastys, curriculums, teaching methods, requirements, subtleties, self hatred, inabilities, programs and relatives. Black America is in need of prayer but Black America is in need of the statistics that help it in reporting to itself the numbers for comparison to qualitative data. America says one thing but Black America may say another... Lda 7/08

While watching Black in America, I had two thoughts going through my mind: This confirms all that I know already about how tough it is to be Black in America, and how shocked I was to see just how far we still have to go to just even be considered equal. The special that really touched me was the focus on the Black Man. I have three brothers and I see this pain and struggle in their eyes all the time. I also see the pride they carry with them for being black. I believe every person in America should see this special, not just black people.

Thank you for your offer to help me(and my friends)I need more on how to research/how/where to go to find out how to get past the FCC's pat answers to me about "freedom of speech" and to contact the cable news channel's programs and owners who they gave the liscenses to"! what a joke! these networks are owned by so many who owns it somemany different companys and place by someone else' company and so on and so on.We do not want to just file for a class action suit with Jerry Brown our attorney general. He is a former 2 term LIBERAL governor and mayor of Oakland, but we want the FCC to be forced to answer for what they do/do not do to bring these offending and shocking things into our homes. They should have 'warnings' that this program can be offencive to some....does this make any sense to you???? These false images of our Black community must be stoped or brought attention to beyond media talking heads. And, a lot of this is the fault of Jesse Jacslon and Al Sharpton. But, I am upset that when they began to actually do something in the Black community they seem to have been banned from being media's favorite talking heads since CNN, MSNBC and FOX came into being.will send you some www I got from CNN today as don Lemon went into shock about Blacks actually having TV stations, etc. It seem there is a nwe www dedicated to tear apart the Republican partys need to defane Obama in their campainge ads. I have been to neither. One is Low road express.com (ads) Radio One.com. I have been to none yet. but any public voice about us as a proud, and race that makes this a better planet is needed. I will give the FCC as little slack when we here in northen Ca. can get Tavis Smiley d uring prime time and not 1am!!!!and full coverage all over the TV when he will be on C-Span.
