Q&A With Bill Cooper

Do U like suspense? If so, please check out my novels, ,
"Some suspense works can be quite intriguing. How long have you been writing in this genre?"

Interviewed by Jean Holloway, Novelist 01/06/11

Are you a D.I.V.A.?
"NO! But I am married to one. Pardon my saying so, but you and she have striking resemblance. She will not mind our friendship, because of the causes we serve...I'll learn the other part of your message, I am sure, upon our becoming friends. Please read my profile here and follow me on Facebook.com."

Interviewed by Shannon Ms DIVA Holliday 12/31/10

Why did you decide to join HBCUConnect.com?
"Nice to know you, William. You have such an incredible tool here to get info out to the social sites. One thing is for sure. Many American homeowners need to begin to come to terms with the possible ramifications of the just imposed housing foreclosure 'meltdown' moratorium for them in most-perhahaps all 50 states by now. We at our Company have been assisting homeowners with staying in and keeping their homes since the housing crisis began. Therefore, we are considered a 501(q) entity by the IRS, because of the nature of our services provided in regard to our housing counseling services. Our company, Cooper and Associates Services along with partnering company Twenty-First Century Solutions, Dothan, Alabama 36303, ph 334-405-2503 or email cooperdothan@aol would like to be involved in a more meaningful way to educate our people. Millions are beimpacted by this mortgage foreclosure fraud-many on the HBCU and related communities. Let us know ifyou feel there is more these sites can do and what role wemight play at Cooper and Associates. The many ramifications to property owners and possible legal challenges that can be raised against lenders are just coming to light. The "Robotics" technology used to flim flam millions out of their properties, by so many lenders, for so long is said to have reached unconsconiable proportions. See our posts this site, your sister sites, www.facebook.com, etc. "

Interviewed by Will Moss 10/11/10

What are your interests?
"We use this moment of so much grieving since my younger brother's death. Would you like to know how? I would suggest we start with www.truckerdesiree.com/sam, my story re "Cujo" r.i.p, www.facebook.com and other sites. Let me know your thoughts."

About   (request update)
Oldest of 9 surviving children who grew up ln Montgomery during the Jim Crow Law days in the deep throes of poverty. We were on the cutting edge of the civil rights movement, suddenly, when Rosa Parks sparked the Montgomery bus boycott under the leadership of Dr. King. Our uncle was King's secretary in the organization that was formed-The Montgomery Improvement Association-to provide effectiveness for the intended purpose of the boycott to bring Jim Crow Law down in defeat. By the way, I was the first of the 10 children to come out of poverty and led the other 9 who also became successful, productive members of society; who all survive as does our mother in her 91st year; who lives to this day independently in her modest 4 bedroom home. I love our story and currently have publishers interested in the manuscript I am editing. I also am interested in lecturing about what it was like to grow up deep in Dixie during those Jim Crow years when Blacks were 2nd class citizens, even less thought of in some quarters

Elected student government president during my last undergraduate term (1967-1968). Did You See The CNN Special Entitled "Black In America":
No
Why Are You Concerned About Black America:
The declining ambitions our youths today exhibit when they forsake taking advantage of educational opportunities, the economic "tsunami" facing those who aren't. Violence among our people, especially black men. The drug scene which has consumed so many due to the wrong pursuits-along with the devastating consequences- so many of us have witnessed. The increasing challenges facing those of the most under served among us-the poor, seniors, disabled, etc. The list of appalling problems that continues to grow with every newscast. The lack of solutions that are not being offered soon enough, it seems. And yet, there is hope, though few have found answers they desire-and need-so desperately.

I am just getting to your question because I have more activity on www.hbcuconnect.com, blackwomenconnect.comm,hoodeconomix.com,etc. The point to remember aboutSS Disability is that if an onset date for a period of disability is established, your work record is 'frozen' as of that date and benefits are calculated as if you have already attained age 65 (at that date). Of course, if no work is performed after your impairment or injury your average earnings tend to lower your monthly benefits. It is possible to keep track of what your estimated monthly benefit will be other wise upon retirement (your 'PEBES ' statement, which can be requested at www.ssa.gov.

PEACE AND BLESSINGS MY BROTHER YOUR WORDS WERE HEART FELT AND I AM GLAD I SELLECTED YOUR PROFILE BECAUSE I DO HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY AND SOCIAL SECURITY. WHEN COMPARING THE TWO IS THERE ANY SUBSTANTIAL DIFFERENCE ON THE AMOUNT THE FEDERAL TREASURY WILL PAY A PERSON THAT HAS A DISABILITY AS OPPOSE TO WAIT UNTIL I AM SIXTY-FIVE (65) YEARS OLD, I AM CURRENTLY SIXTY (60 ) YEARS YOUNG. I KNOW THAT THE AMOUNT OF TIME WORKED DOES HAVE A PART IN THE CALCULATIONS FOR THE RECORD IAM NOW UNEMPLOYED AND COLLECTING MY INSURANCE BUT I HAVE WORKED SINCE I WAS TWENTY-ONE (21) YEARS. If we accept the fact that the word "Black" refers to the amount of melanin or carbon is in ones skin, then there are different kinds of Black or darkness of hue. However, I see that your indication is really based on culture. Yes, we are different from this perspective, If it is defined by "patterns of human activity and the symbolic structures that give such activities significance and importance". ie: foods, clothing, belief systems (or religion), language, tradition, education, environment and so on. Culture is a figment of ones imagination. People decide on what they want and need out of life and through this a culture is born. For example, teenagers create cultures of the own every generation. They create a life style for the intention of having something of there own, which often isolates and frustrates their parents and endears their particular age group. If we really give it some thought, the culture of our grandparents is very different from our own. We may adopt to certain practices that we find beneficial, but if it does not fall within our personal value systems then it is dismissed. So, the thought of having one kind of Black can be quite nebulous without clearly being defined. Peace

Will, I appreciate your getting right back with your "informed' comments. Read my bio and connections with the modern civil rights era on: www.hoodeconomix.com to understand what drove me to be the best I could be in this land that provides so many opportunities-if those opportunities are seized-and that is the message I will shout as long as I have breath. My life is living PROOF!

Hello Bill, and thank you for your message. I think you are on the right track. Those positions to work in a president's administration are political. Given that an applicant possess the appropriate background for the positions being sought, most people will be favored who has provided some assistance during the election process. From reading your message, it sounds like you were actively involved along the way so that is good. The only other thing I can tell you is that it might be a good idea to be sure to let your friends, family, and present co-workers that you are interested in such a position. There will be a background investigation and investigators will contact them to determine your character and level of integrity and allegiance to the United States. It's good to let folk know so they don't get spooked when the investigators call them or show up at their homes or offices. Other than that, it's just a waiting game Bill. I suspect that Obama will have twice the number of applicants that a president normally receives; therefore, there will be more people sift through and making the process more competitive than it usually would be. Good luck and I do wish you the best.
