It used to be graduates wanted to attend college. They wanted to be doctors, lawyers, teachers, judges, librarians, dancers, actors, and firemen! I look at the graduating class of 2009 and I don't see that same savvy for pursuits and expeditions for having great careers. Most of them want to be entertainer's like rappers and few of them, hardly think on any careers at all! I was not suprised this morning when my neighbor's nephew didn't want to "even go" to school. He's 18 now, and he said; "I anin't going back to school." I surely DON'T hope that all kids want to be drop-outs! Drop-outs are cop-outs and more sooner than later, they'll hate the factor they didn't graduate. When they Grow-UP! Will they say they wanted to be a Drop-Out? What a dilemna! What a pity too, so many kids who are turning in to grown ups without finishing high school! Soon, they'll will grow up, to be .......WHAT? Half of them just want some job at a burger or fast food place, and think it's all they can get. The other half of them might land up somewhere with taking a trade of field that will give the a better view of turning out "Just Okay" Then, well there are some who will trinkle down, and turn out to be criminals, drug addicts, or drug dealers. That leaves a hand full who know exactly what they want and will pursue their career with full force. I just can't understand it. I guess I never will. I bet if you just ramdomly asked a high school student what they want to be after graduation?, (if they do graduate) What do you want to be? They may tell you..."I don't know yet" They'll be grown -up not knowing what they'll be... What do they really want to be? They'll be grown it's certain-- if they live to make it. Well....then... I'm out! Wishing them a great future.
