Batting A Thousand
Not since the heyday of MLK has one person pulled so many Black People together. Sen. Barack Obama stands as a unifying force not only to Blacks but a great many Whites as well. What is it about him? Is it his education? Is it his “clean” and intelligent look? Is it that he speaks to the pain we have felt for so long providing a healing balm to our wounds? Is it that in him we see God at work? Is it that in him we see the best of who we really are?
A wise man once asked, “Why is it that with our great leaders we think that God was batting a thousand when He made them, but when it came to us He struck out?” If we believe our eyes; believe what we see happening before us in the person of Barack Obama, then we must see that same potential in ourselves. Barack Obama is unique, but the essence of his being is not unique to him. Let him serve as an example, a template to what we can achieve when we act on what we say we believe in.
Whatever God or Higher power you serve, pray and or focus on that Supreme Force to bring out of you that which will lead you to be what you admire so much in Barack and others. Ask that you see this sign of this Black man becoming President of the United States for what it really is, a sign and time of CHANGE FOR YOU. Yes you can, be what you were created to be, just like President Obama, a living reflection of God.
Peace to You and Congratulations President Obama
