I don't know Marta, but I would have to say this. Decent single men and women are on this site, just like any other. This man saw interest in you and your not interested, therefore politely just let him know. I don't understand the need to want to embarass a person for seeing a beautiful woman that he wanted to get to know better. I say this if not for nothing at least there are more educated professional people on this site than the one you mentioned. Geez give the man credit for looking for quality.

Thank you Marquerite..sweetheart..it's a part of a scam..and this is not a dating site..i just posted one of the dating sites. perhaps you are not familiar with the game? I am tired of receiving these types of solicitations..this is not the only one, and yes if he's embarrassed maybe just maybe it will stop others,though I doubt it.
The other ones I received on this site prior, I privately declined or ignored. But his "e-mail " is posted, so if you would like to respond in kind to the poor "man" by all means do so.
Where did I mention that there is only one educated person on this site??? Oh,you are referring to the Obama type, haha.."there are more educated people on this site than the one you mentioned" a little emotional there dear.
The "one" I mentioned is the top Black man in the world professionally..I wonder sometimes..how is your teaching going?--- I also made it clear that I meant no disrespect, and that there are some cool brothers, on the site, just like Obama, but they are happily married, and I am glad for them. I admire men who are not players,and devoted to their wives and children. As for looking for quality, not sure, what your reference is. You assume all people on this network are quality? Like I told my daughter at 12-years of age, you never know who you are dealing with , the opportunity for deceit, is on the internet. A man may be a woman, and vice-versa.
We all take chances and believe in the good of man. Remember , a young girl committed suicide because she thought she was talking to a friend, when it was
her boyfriend's mother impersonating. Maybe I read too many true life spy stories.LOL.
I also don't need to feel flattered. I am 60- years old been hearing the compliments since I was 12-years old..I am about character, and the fool who wrote that has none, and he is not educated..ok. Marguerite..I really wonder sometimes about us women..I really do.

Marta I may not be 60, but I'm wise beyond my years. I do know the game, but this is not about me going back and forth with you to explain my opinion to your post. Last I checked it is a social networking site where people socialize with each other, if some people choose to initate a conversation beyond the scope of an open discussion on a blog, that too is their choice. As for the " a little emotional dear" comment I have no reason to be. There are scammers all over, be it online or in person. You basically decided to respond to my comment and use it as a sounding board to unleash how you felt on me, therefore I would have to say that your the one that is feeling a little emotional. If I was young and immature, I would be offended, but because I'm a mature woman I will take with a grain of salt and hope that you have a nice day.

Hummm....,Sounds like a little back and forth to me !
First off, this is Black Women Connect,the social network for Professional Black Women.
Not E-Harmony.com or as you Marta mentioned, www.blackpeoplemeet.com.
This has nothing to do with the fact that there are decent men and women on this site.
Anyone with a minimum ounce of intellegence know this and if it's a relationship that they are seeking, already know that this is not the media.
The last I checked, this is/was suppose to be for us ,to do our networking, and at anytime can agree to disagree.
We woman, for once have GOT TO TAKE and CONTROL our environment like yesterday !
We forget the power that we have as Goddesses, and that men must stay in their place like they have been telling us for so... many years.
( don't blow this out of proportion, I'm not male bashing) !
However, I appreciate this blog Marta, so others need to recollect the original focus that was said at the top of it and gain the full understanding instead of turning this into a cat fight that we have the tendancy to do at times.
It misses the point !
In order to get respect, you have to give it !
That goes for the men as well as others that think they can turn something that is meant for us, into some sort of personal gain for themselves.

Thank you Sister Minister La Donna for protecting our sisters, who do not yet walk in the light of a sefl actualized Goddess. I get bashed all the time for trying to defend my sisters.
Another sister just e-mailed me that she got the same e-mail? Now how do you feel Ms. Marguerite the "un-emotional" ? the only thing I get emotional about, is 1. people wasting my time with the dumb stuff. 2. People who are not intelligent 3. women who have axes to grind..against other women and this is not a social networking as much as a "professional" networking, site , so the last time you checked you got it all wrong..I got it right! This blog was put here to PROTECT my sisters o f which you are obviously not of the same mindset, since you feel sorry for the poor brother. Who is scam artist. How "wise is that?' Come on with it..drawing the line in sand..you can cross it, or you can be a real woman and realize you jumped bad for the wrong reasons..what else is new? I responded to your comments, not to you personally, since I do not know you, but I do know you said you were a teacher..if that's so.

Min. DD This is not a cat fight. I am responding on the Black In America site, not Black Women Connect site, First Off and Secondly, the point of this blog were made and taken Thirdly, if responding and having my own independant thought process then means a catfight is starting, then several women need to reassess themselves. We all have our own perspective and if this was the Black Women Connect site, it is no way the connection would be to the depth of which it could be if people can't agree to disagree or have to wonder if they voiced their own opinion ( which is not right or wrong) People say all the time that Black Women can't seem to get along and when looking at the responses to the comment I made is indicative to why. The comment was light hearted that I made, but the response to it was a totally different tone, could be insulting to say the least. I'm no one's dear or sweetheart. I know that tone. Controlling our environment does not mean to attack a person's opinion in order to do so.

Have nice day was genuine Marta, not catty. No I'm not your friend, in fact I don't know you at all and because of that I would have no idea how you address your friends in your daily life. I think is also something people fail to realize. Alot of the people that comment on blogs are not apart of the person's daily life or their inner circles and have no idea how they interact with people. You may have made the tags as a term of endearment and with me not knowing you, it was taken a different way, as if you were thumbing your nose to me like I was some young dumb little girll. Granted I may not be in the same age range as you, but at 40 yrs old, I don't consider myself some young dumb girl either. Beautiful and Intelligent, yes that I am. I respect you wanting to protect women, in fact it was not until you went into the detail of the depth of the scam artist contacting you via private message to solicit money and things, that I realized this blog was more about that, than about just wanting to embarass someone that you had no interest in.

I get them in my personal email and never respond to them. We all have had some form of life experience that we can share with one another to help each other and to warn one another. Marta I am sure that there are many things that I can learn from you and the other woman that are older than I and that there are things that I can teach many of you with sharing my experiences. Here to many more days of learning and sharing and hopefully building positive connections so that one day if you ever choose to refer to me as dear or sweetie I will know it was a term of endearment. No Brother !
Here's where you Brothers step in and don't get it !
It was much ado about something that you all can learn from us, if you could put your male egos aside and reflect on we women AKA Goddesses !
Notice how we can become equitable and resolve!
Notice how although we have our differences, we can share.
It's a new day, and the power that you all had, you need to figure out a way to restore it and make for a better world than the one we all live in currently that were ran by men ,that seems to be not working.
We've come a long way, and thats why we have some of the drama thats in us.
But one thing you should know Brother...... is :
This is the time to be humble,this is the time to care, this is the time to show compassion and empathy.
Yes, these are the true weapons of war, is to love one another!
And of all the things that you can learn from us right now that I'm trying to enlighten you with here, is,... to learn RIGHTEOUSNESS !

I could not agree more-this side is and about black women communicating and connecting with other black women- this is not pick up central- we need to keep this site neutralized to the issues at hand and stay the course- there are literally hundreds if not thousands of sites to mingle yet this is not one!
