Teachers Create Educational Comic Book (624 hits)

Hello to all,

The series of the Lil Professor and His Friends comic books teach our children subjects such as math, science, and history in the form of am interactive story. In addition, it gives them a foundation on how to deal with everyday issues such as peer pressure. Although the comic book is geared towards students, all ages will be able to enjoy and learn from the Lil Professor's universal concepts.

The first installment in the series is the Urban Griot, which teaches us all about African American pioneers. It takes 13 African American pioneers and incorporates them into the daily lives of children so they can see how history has an impact on their everyday lives. It is another way to teach kids as a supplement to textbooks, to make learning more fun (Edutainment).

In addition to the comic book, there is a supplemental learning CD based on the comic book. It focuses on the reading, writing, and comprehension aspects of the classroom. It gives teachers and homeschooling instructors 3-5 days worth of lesson plans surrounding the book.

The comic book was released on November 1, 2008 by two school teachers out of Hampton ,VA. This is very inspiring and uplifting for our community and most importantly our kids.

Thank you all so much

I love this. I am apart of a Non-Profit and we do alot of things for the community and youth, including after-school and summer camp programs. I am curious to know if this has been marketed to the Boys and Girls Clubs or any P.A.L Centers also. Although some may only purchase around Black History Month, because schools have to have all curriculum approved (Not unless they are apart of the Amistad Commission) Check the Dept. Of Education for the state to find this out, any way this is great.
