Happy New Year!
Have you started on your New Year's Resolution list? If you have, add this resolution. "I resolve to make a difference in someone's life this year". Many of us have been educated in a school or university and have earned trades and degrees. It's time to pay it forward.
Education can change a life! Education opens up so many doors that one would not usually have access to. Find a student that is struggling and help them. Find a young man or woman who is going down the wrong road and dare to inspire them to do better and make better choices. Share your knowledge that you've gained in school and connect with a tutoring organization.
Education changed my life. The ability to learn and study opened so many doors for me: basketball scholarship, internships, a Graduate Fellowship and of course great jobs! I didn’t have any money growing up, but I had a mind to think and a heart to dream!
Encourage someone to go back to college; you go back to college and earn that advanced degree. Through knowledge, education and compassion, we change our society. We can start businesses, create jobs, and change our economic climate. We can change our social climate by educating people in moral values that many of our youth and young adults lack. It has to start with you and me. You have the power to influence your circle. Who do you come in contact with a work or in your community? That is the circle that you have the power to influence in a positive direction. If you need to change, then find positive people to connect with that can help you with your transformation.
Dare to make a difference in someone's life today.
