PRAYER JOURNALS -- ANOTHER WAY TO CONNECT WITH THE DIVINE!!! (193 hits)

Good Evening, Everyone:

I'm so blessed to be writing this blog entry. Earlier this evening, my car caught on fire and luckily, I was not injured nor was anyone else. I was even able to salvage the majority of the items in my car. I feel truly blessed because it could have been much worse. This happened in a mall parking lot and not while I was driving on the freeway to the mall. GOD IS GOOD!!!

Recently, I have been experimenting with writing entries into a prayer journal. I created it using Microsoft Word with colors and spiritual symbols that are important to me. Every time I make a daily entry, I insert a picture of a symbol that's related to the topic I want to discuss with GOD. I type whatever is on mind whether it is a problem or general thanksgiving. When the entry is finished, I save it on my computer knowing that GOD has read my entry and will do whatever is in my best interest.

By doing this I have noticed some interesting results. I'm not always able to save everything I write into my prayer journal. This forces me to" revise" my entry and if it is "acceptable", it will be saved; otherwise I simply have to revise it again. For a person who spends so much time using a computer, this is a very efficient way to communicate with GOD in a manner that's truly relaxing. This activity also helps me to sort out my personal issues from other people's which is what this journal is all about. I can't fix other people, that's GOD's job and knowing the difference is priceless!!!

I truly believe when you make a consistent effort to communicate with GOD, the divine will reach out to you. Since I have started this journal, my state of mind has noticeably improved. I have also been blessed "to reconnect" with people from my" not so distant past" in a beneficial manner. Earlier today, I had a premonition about fire but I ignored it because I did not understand it. Now, I know it was GOD trying to warn me about my car. I'm living proof that when the divine wants "to take care of you", it will!!!

Regardless of where you are at in your life, start a prayer journal! You don't have to use a computer. It can even be as simple as a hand written loose leaf notebook. Just take a few moments to converse with the Divine in writing. Who knows? The response just might surprise you!

May Peace Be With All of You,

Gail Cooper
