Let me start by saying that I -- in no way -- believe the Hole-y Bible, but there is something that could convince me . It's that part about us being the cursed people of Hamm(?). Here's my case, stay w/me for a minute:
I often visit this college and began noticing a trend ... there's this area that students go to study and seek counsel/tutoring. First I noticed retired white guy, then recent grad Indian gal, middle age Asian guy whose accent is so heavy [and loud] he's hard to understand, and everyone else from all walks of life. Counseling college students. But not one Black. One day a Black lady walked in and I thought she may be "the one" -- but no, she was asking.
I know that's nothing. But wait, there's more ...
The first 20 slaves arrived in America 390 years ago last month. So, why is it that after nearly 400 years the majority of us STILL can't master the only language we speak? Others whose parents are almost assuredly immigrants have come, learned the language within 10 years and speak it far better than many of us. there simply is no excuse.
I could go on and on about our health -- or lack thereof -- fear of independence, lack of industrial accomplishment, but why only US? Dubois (?) said many years ago that only 10% of us will actually "get it" -- while I admire the 10 percenters, it has become blatantly obviuos to me that only 10% of others DON'T get it.
A couple of days ago I asked to name a Black prosperous country on here received only one legitimate answer. By Marta, who isn't even Black! Hell, even WE don't know of any! Every country we are in charge of becomes crime infested, riddled with famine and devastation and those who are in charge are corrupt and greedy.
Look at our neighborhoods. Can you name one Black neighborhood that's more than 10 years old that's not run down? Why is that when we have gotten educated and employed and want to rear our families to be their very best we have to find other neighborhoods to do it in? We should run our communitiesd "up" not "down". If you drain the quality individuals from the 'hood and leave the lazy loafers and the 90% in charge, what good could possibly come forth?
I've heard White people call the illegal aliens from Mexico cowards because they choose to run from their corrupt government instead of sticking around to fight for change. Isn't that what most of us "10 percenters" do?
Ok, that's my rant for the week. But the question still remains: Can we change this ourselves or are we doomed to destruction b/c the bible said so?
