Living "well" is something that I've experieced for the majority of my life. No, I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth nor were my parents wealthy by any means. My living well is the result of being the youngest child with six sibllings. Each of my siblings have contributed to my being able to live "well". I recall how my oldest sister who I loving refer to as, "Bay" has poured into my "living well" with her affirmations of love, cheers of support and when needed, a shoulder to cry on. She has served as my protector, confidant and even my co-conspirator as only a big sister could. So much of who I am is because of who she believed I could become. Bay not only believed it, amazingly, she was able to get me to believe as well. Now the years have continued and it is my turn to get her to believe in herself the same way she got me to believe in me.
My sister is 68 (there's 20 yrs. between us). Presently, she is experiencing several health issues. I returned home in the fall to live with her and become her primary caretaker. I asked for her permission to assume this role, given that my sister was fiercely independent. She agreed. We both thought I was equipped and able to give her the gift of living "well". Iwould like to share our journey...Re-gifting isn't a bad thing.
