I Love Houseplants! (286 hits)

Certainly do! And if you love them too, but can't seem to get them to live very long here's a few tips I offer. The biggest problem I've discovered about people who love houseplants, but can't seem to get the to grow is because they just don't know what to do! Sometimes they choose the wrong plants to grow in their homes. Different plants require specific needs. For example, some plants require more light, more watering and others like flourescent lights, and very little waterings. Then there is also feeding and caring your plant --as far as pruning and general caretaking. A beginner should start with only one plant. A plant that is easy to care for is a philodendron. This particular plants grows in vines and can be found in many homes and offices everywhere. They require only a little water, and requires only a small amout of sunlighting each day. Potting them is easy and if you're one to give too much water, just make sure they are potted in a drain proof pot to prevent overwatering.

There are so many house plants to choose from. Tiny ones, ones that grow large and bold, even indoor trees can add an addition to you decor. Now, if you're just not certain where to start try visiting your local library and check out a few books on Houseplants for beginners. Tips in these books are usually very good. Use patience and select your plants wisely. Beforehand, make sure you're buying a good potting soil this can also attribute to healthy and beautiful house plants. Look too, for warning signs of a dying plant. They may include yellowing or browing of leaves, limpness and dry soil due to not enough water or nutrients in the soil.

Go get your pots, pick out your plants. And put your hands together. If you have a direct question, I may be able to answer it here in this blog ....so ask away.

Enjoy your indoor plants, they're your new babies!
