Back in 2007, I established a faith-based social research and service organization called PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS Nonprofit Services Division (NSD). This 501c3 organization was created to promote functional families through words and deeds. My goal is, and always will be, to offer services in parent education and support, post-secondary advising and planning, and conference planning, coordination and implementation.
Two years later, the only service that the organization is able to offer is parent education and support. Through the organization's P.E.D.A.L (Parent Equipping Dependents for Abundant Living) University, I facilitate two parent education curriculums produced by the Georgia-based Active Parenting Publishers, Inc. - Active Parenting Now (for parents with children ages 5-12 and Active Parenting of Teens (for parents with children ages 12-18). And we are currently offering Dr. James Dobson's 11-session "Bringing Up Boys" Video Seminar Series in the Triangle, North Carolina area.
Because I am a former TRIO Upward Bound Director, I would like to bring the post-secondary advising and planning services online. The federal government is only providing enough funding to the TRIO programs to serve seven percent of the eligible, low-income population. That means 93 percent of the low-income population, largely persons of color, are not receiving college prep services. I'm asking private citizens like yourselves to consider making tax-deductible donations to PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS Nonprofit Services Division to increase its capacity to serve its constituents. You can also support our efforts by purchasing a $25 annual membership. Donations made to PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS NSD are tax-deductible.
If you have any questions about my request, feel free to give me a call at (919) 604-4585. I can also be reached electronically at Jfaulk28@nc.rr.com. Visit the PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS NSD website to learn more about why your monetary contribution will be so significant.
Thank you for taking the time to read this blog entry, consider my request.
Be blessed, and continue to be a blessing.
Sincerely,
Jeffery A. Faulkerson, MSSW
