Jealousy Hurts Trust
What are the affects of jealousy on the trust factor in a relationship? We have all been there. Guy meets girl, guy dates girl, guy sleeps with girl then all of a sudden guy becomes an insanely jealous, insecure control freak. Guy follows girl, guy stalks girl and then makes unreasonable demands.
The questions commence:“Where were you last night?”
“Why do you need to go out to party every weekend?”
“You were checking out that guy weren’t you?”
What many men don’t realize is that when we behave childishly and let jealousy and our insecurities get the best of us we look like fools. It makes our partners question our own happenings and motives. It’s also one of the biggest turn offs for women, just ask them. Furthermore, it wounds the possibility of longevity in a relationship because you can never get past it.
Instead of being grateful for the solid unions we have, not to mention the beautiful women at our side, instead we treat our partners like disobedient adolescents unworthy of the freedom they deserve. We need to wake up!
My book The Reunion [Xpress Yourself Publishing] which hits shelves in February 2009 tackles this issue. However, I approach it from a different angle. The shoe is on the other foot, instead of a distraught man as the culprit, it’s a crazed woman! The main character Sean Jiles is tormented by Eva Sparks when he attempts to go back to his hometown to enjoy his ten year high school class reunion. Not only does she try to sabotage his trip, she devotes every component of her existence to making Sean’s life a living hell! This is all driven by jealousy.
