wHOO! It's getting HOT in Here! Memphians are saying that more as 140,000 of them still have no power and temperatures are reaching in the high 90's

Since the recent storms last weekend thousands of Memphians are beginning to sweat. Many homeowers are starting to grumble as the heat is on. Temperatures are reaching the high 90's and that feels more like a 100 plus inside homes. Some are complaining that their houses feels like saunas. With some many homes affected by the storm and loss of power, MLGW (Memphis Light, Gas and Water) are working around the clock to restore residents with electricity. However, patience is wearing thin. Many residents who have been restored are assisting family members with temporary shelter by sharing living quarters with their relatives. Some still have no place to go are bearing the heat without a grin!

I can relate to that, I'm still in a hot house, and in the dark...I just can't believe it...

I was actually glad to go to WORK today just so I could be in the cool for a while!.... This morning I was hot though, as I had to work early in yard picking up tree branches....

Memphis and surrounding families are not only dealing with power losses, but with massive clean up of debris is carrying a high cost. Everywhere you walk, or drive you'll see tree branches and trash. Trees are being sawed up and placed on streets for pickup. Families too, are facing hefty costs of repairs as property damages are soaring! Many homes are needing repairs and some families were not prepared have no insurance that may recover their losses. This causes a burning in hot pocket and a heavy burden to some homeowers.
I do pray for them though...

Memphis are loaded with kind people, and with all the bad media coverage about being a dangerous place to live, you'll find some good people. Volunteers are handing out, water, generators, and food and supplies. Neighbors are helping the eldery as by knocking on doors and checking on them during the heat wave after the storms. One voluteer stated " We're just trying to get out and help people."

It's time for me to get off work.. I've got to go back to the Hot House! That means it's time to leave work, cool, nice air-conditioner work. ....Truly, I am glad for the chill... I'll find some newspaper and make a fan... Look at that...I can feel a breeze....Who am I kidding...I'm in the Hot house!
