Memphis Chief Adminstrative Officer retires. Keith McGee announed yesterday in a press-conference that he has chosen to retire. McGee announced of his retirement plans after serving as Memphis Chief Adminstrative Officer for over 30 years. Reasons of his retirement will include his duties to give more service in his pastorial role and as a business consultant. Although the city's government is surprised at his abrupt leaving, well-wishers uphold his freedom to turn in his papers. Adminstrator McGee will be leaving a salary of 144,000 a year and receive a pension of about 5,000. It's his freedom to go and he seemed confident it's what he's ready to do.
"Talk about a drop in the pay! Just goes to show you that money isn't the ruler of everybody's life..."If you know what I mean." Try tell that to some people they'll give you that long stare." Looks as if Keith has found something free, he's decided to let it go!...... HE'S FREE FALLING!...

Memphis, TN
A 17 year aspiring harmonia player, Brandon Oneal Bailey entered a free contest at the Orpheum Star Search 2008 has found his road to highway of freedom. Brandon was the performance competition 2008 winner! His winnings brought him chance to perform on Monday night, June 15, 2009 in Washington, DC at the Jefferson Awards for Public Service. Brandon's mother gives accreditiveness to her son, because at age five she gave him his first harmonia to play. Orpheum theatre president Pat Holloran connected the competition with the nation program last year which turned out to be a very extraodinary experience for Brandon's future. Brandon required special arrangements to attend the award service because his family does not own a automobile, and presently lives with his mom and grandmother. Alice Roberts, vice president said that it was a king's treatment for a kid with humble roots. Brandon recently finished his freshman year at the University of Memphis with a 4.0 GPA. The prizes Brand took home from the talent competition landed him in attending the special performance, and a $5,000 savings bond. Brandon roads led him to a free spot to play his way in Washington...He was quoted as saying "I never imagined I would be able to do some things I have done...and am getting to do just from playing the harmonica."

June 18, 2009
Memphis, TN
Memphis has dealt with storms, rain and winds and then no power and now it's the heat. So doors are being opened where if folk can come if they are still without power. Shelby County Mayor A.C. Wharton annouces that if we work together we can make it through the heat of the day by freely opening up hands that help. Checking on your neighbor, donating food and water and even finding cool free places to wait. The Frayser Raleigh Senior Center is opened for anyone wanting freedom for their hot homes. MLGW has been working diligently to restore power to over 186,000 homes. Last report now only about 6,000 homes or less are still waiting. They are encouraging those without power to be patient. So, if you can find some free places to stay where doors are opened. The Frayser Raleigh Senior Center is located at 3955 Egypt Central.
