Bill to pay tribute to slaves that built US Capitol (156 hits)

A bill introduced by Rep. Gary Ackerman and Rep Charlie Rangel of New York would have a statue of the "Unkown Slave added to the Emancipation Hall of the Capitol Visitor Center. Read more about this and read the proposal by using the link below:

George, the following statement from me may only be another reminder of that old falsehood about how Black people can never unite! But, in all honesty, there is no way that "I' will ever be able to support something that is related to pride, accompolishments of Blacks In America that will have the name Rep. Charlie Rangel on it, in this life time.

During the last past two years, I have been forced by the abuse of power behavior exibited by Rep. Rangel who seem to have forgotten those who supported him getting to this Federal office or who no longer cares for the Black community whose votes got him to Washington, D.C.

I have no other way to find out if most of us do know the person of color or not that is good enough for our one prescious vote...and I do hope that both you and me and other concerned with trying to help our president get a great and worthy government for our country at long last(smile)
