... take a gander at what happened last night at a town hall hosted by MO Senator Claire McCaskill. A group of black women came to the hall carrying posters with images of Rosa Parks. There were others with other signs there. McCaskill asked everyone to put their signs down. The woman puts her sign down. Then a reporter comes over and asks to see her sign. As she’s showing the sign to the reporter, a rage-filled, cowardly bigot rushes over and tears the sign out of her hand.
Watch it:
I understand that they arrested the man but then they also escorted the woman out of the hall because she lost it, which is understandable under the circumstance. That’s supposed to be “fair.” But the crowd cheered what this cretin did, so it’s clear where the sentiment is. How can ANYONE cheer the tearing down of an image of Rosa Parks?
Watching this made me realize something. I would not have been a good foot soldier for King’s nonviolent movement. God knows they dealt with more than what we just saw here. But had that been me, or someone with me, especially if it was a woman and God forbid it was my wife, mother, daughter or sister, because I would have knocked that punk’s teeth out and rammed that sign down his throat before I knew it. That’s what I felt watching this.
And I hate to say it but maybe that's what needs to happen. An example needs to be made. These people are being allowed to go too far without any consequences. They get in faces and scream and shout, push and shove. They come to intimidate, even bringing guns, knowing that most likely nothing will happen to them. (Imagine if you or I brought a gun to a Bush rally – we’d be in Guantanamo to this day) The police are treating them with kid gloves, the media pretends as if these people are just “concerned citizens” expressing their “rights to free speech.” They are being bullies and getting away with it.
And some of these people, God bless ‘em, are just as ignorant as they can be, but at the same time they are just consumed with hatred. They really believe the b.s. they spout because they’ve been fed a steady diet of hate radio, Reaganism and GOP know-nothingism for decades. They’ve been conditioned to blame all of their shortcomings and all of the ways the corporate system shafts them just as its allowed to shaft everyone else, on blacks. We have nothing to do but deal with it when it happens to us; they get the “luxury” of blaming us. But we’re supposed to be the ones who “whine.” Please! And they have to blame it on somebody, because they’ve also been taught that as whites, they are at the top of the heap, only to now find themselves “under” a black president. Poetic justice?
You almost want to feel sorry for them because they are the ones being used. The insurance industry is not going to reward any of them with respectful, decent healthcare if they win this fight for them. They will continue to take advantage of them just like they are any other consumer.
I am not advocating violence; what I said above was just what I felt I may have done, given the emotion I felt at seeing what could have been my mother, wife, daughter or sister being manhandled like that, to cheers. But there needs to be some serious pushback from us.
Whether you have healthcare or not; whether you realize it or not, this IS about you.
Really sad... I'm embarrassed...

I think you fail to see the point of allowing these bullies to continue. America right now is at a stage of low level civil war. What do you think happened that's worse than 9/11? The stealing of the 2000 election America has been spiraling down out of control every since. The divisons was so intense during that it would have tore the country apart to see 4 more years of Clinton politics which had been labled as being favortism to Blacks over Whites. The worse part of the country's history was the Civil War and if you want to know where we are at now then just look at the Civil War. When you see a congressman outright disrepect a sitting president and he's only made to apologize then you know the fight has been further encouraged. Many of these crazy people you see at townhall meetings are all ready about to go to war over fear this country will no longer be in the hands of white but Blacks and Liberal whites. Hispanics and Asians kind of going along with G.O.P propaganda but no one can deny President Obama is very honest, noble and good person to every single person that is a human being. No campaign, no adiministration I can think of besides Kennedy's contained so much diversity even people who don't agree in given space in Obama's administation. We are all Americans Obama says but it's Obama's lack of firmness that created this mess at the townhall meetings. Obama convinced everyone during his campaign he would act decisively but he's almost begging for these people's compliance to his policies when Bush never did that nor did Clinton. Rulers act by doing nothing. Obama is doing way too much allowing this people a second election. It's a nice gesture but it shows weakness and they are taking advangtage it like bullies normally do.

Hello to everyone,
What is wrong with you all? Where are you all rationality, common sense, reasoning, and abilities?
If we were a sovereign people, would we be stressed out about all this nonsense? Of course, we would not be stressed out.
What it is all about, is that you all do not believe that you could become a sovereign people. You have no faith in your selves, God and your only permanent solution, which is sovereignty.
You have more fear of White America then you do of God. You believe that White America is invincible.
The Hebrew people in the days of Moses also had more fear of Pharaoh than they did of the God, Abraham, Jacob and Isaac. However, they were delivered from bondage because of Prophet Moses perseverance with his people.
Black Americans only permanent solution is to become a sovereign people on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders to pursue Life, Liberty, Happiness and Prosperity for ourselves and in our own way.
We inherit a portion of this continent from our ancestors the end in this country from day one and what I tell you it is going to happen.
Do you all not think it is about time that we should have our hands on the wheels of our own destiny? So, why do you all get so stressed out and be so involved in the affairs of White America?
I am the way, and besides me, there is no other way that Black Americans could ever become real people in this world.
What say you?

As a Black man I am convinced that Martin King succeeded to the limited extent he did because of the presence of Malcolm X. Malcolm warned American to give King what he wanted or he, Malcolm, would be what they have to deal with. As a white commentator said in the series Blacks in America, since the day a Black slave came to America, a state of war has existed between the Blacks and whites. We are losing that war because we do not fight. Unarmed young Black men are being gunned down in the street in large numbers by police and nothing but praying is the response. Blacks are unemployed at almost twice the rate as whites and we do nothing about it. Black families earn one-half what white families, still, after all this time, and we do nothing about it. Our leadership has long been compromised by the forces that make for those number. Blacks pride themselves on being descendants of kings, but the truth is that African Americans are the descendants of the losers of the tribal wars that are still going on. This is a capitalist country. Only money talks. Power is about the judicious use of money. We spend our money helter-skelter when money may be our last tool in the struggle for freedom and equality in this country. We need a plan to engage in some serious socio-economic war until these numbers change and Black families can live the life white families live; have the same chance at their children going to college; being able to purchase the things that make life enjoyable with the same aplomb as whites. We have been sheep too long. If I were white, I would take advantage of Blacks also; why not, it would mean more money in my and my kind's pockets. For a PLAN to wage this socio-economic war, see my blog: hanksands.blogspot.com.

Brother Clark I am more upset that these sound bite had the woman being violent and not one word of why she was up set in the ones I saw...but the "violence" has alreaady been started.A prison riot that involved over a thousand people was just here in California. The Mexicans and the Blacks are doing what is natural. When force past the breaking point we tend to take out our fustrations on the ones nearest us.Any other time there would be a media frenzy over this.Remember the trying to push how the Blacks and Hispanics hated each other during the last elections? So why not now...
Well with this riot they are going to have to now put some of the Blacks and the Mexicans near the Aryan nations in that prison...get it???!!!?All it takes is getting your information from more than one source.
Remember my just saying the sound bites I got showed the Woman as the agressor...
Thank you very much brother Clark for allowing me to get to see the other side of the story...It feels great and gives me much pride that some of us can relate this to the 60s and the racist resistance to the major, major threat to the master race is our being in the White house and the end of T-O-K-E-N-I-S-M as we know it in politics is over.
Now the only nut left to crack on tokenism is in our Federal Senate...YES WE CAN(smile)
