You have seen the media reports of town halls across the
country where discussions on health care reform have taken place. Many
Members of Congress have been disrupted by misinformed constituents
that have been communicating completely false information of what
current health care reform legislation looks like.
Next week there is an opportunity, locally, to have our voices heard
in support of health care reform. We encourage anyone who lives in the
8th Congressional District of Virginia, to attend next week’s town
hall hosted by Congressman Jim Moran on Tuesday, August 25th at 7pm.
To gain entry to this town hall you will need to be a constituent and
live in the district.
[Remember these Town Hall Meetings have been requested by President Obama to pass Healthcare Reform Bill and the purpose is to inform citizens of exactly what is Healthcare Reform, Public Otion, etc. so please come out and help to ultimately support President Obama if you can]
We are encouraging DC residents (and other non constituents) to attend
and gather outside of the town hall to show support for health care
reform. No doubt there will be non supporters of health care reform
inside and outside of the meeting, so let's stand strong with other
supporters and make our presence known. We'll make sure that the
opposition, media and elected officials know that we support a strong
health care reform bill. Governor Dean will also be speaking at this
town hall, so it is sure to be highly attended by both media and
others.
We would like to meet in DC and going out to Reston as a group. Please
email me if you are able to attend, both passengers and drivers
needed.
Time of departure will depend on how many people and drivers volunteer
to attend so please get back to me as soon as possible at
megmchugh@gmail.com We will need to be there before the start of the
meeting at 7 so expect to meet about 5. Again this will depend on
logistics of getting out there.
