BLACK MIDDLE CLASS CONTINUES TO SHRINK: What Do They Owe Us? (1044 hits)

This is an article I found on Black Voices. It has me wondering what do we think is due us during these economic times?

"The Black Middle Class is in a severe state of decline as a result of the economic crisis begun in September 2008. Foreclosures and layoffs disproportionately are wrecking havoc on the professional class of African Americans. In its hour of despair however there are no voices calling attention to its plight. Nor are there any champions arguing for Federal or State support. Ironically this crisis is occurring during the presidency of America's first African American President.

Black approval for Obama is at the 91% level even though Obama has not earned support at that level.
The Black Community can not afford to continue remaining silent. We must raise our voices and demand what is due to us...."

Hello Ms. Agnes,

Firstly, Black Americans who are descendents of slaves are not African-Americans. An African-American is an entirely different person than a Black American. What separates the two is that Black Americans have experienced slavery on this continent and the African-American did not. Furthermore, Black Americans are a new breed or race of people coming from the breeding process that White men, mostly of British descend had with African slave women of many different kinds when slavery began.

Okay, our economical problems are results that we are not sovereign people. We are intertwined in the system of White America as our ancestors were in slavery times. Therefore, we will always suffer from the bad decisions that White America makes and will hardly benefit from the good decisions.

However, if we were a sovereign people as I said we could make our own decisions.

Consequentially, our only permanent solution to our problems as a people is to desire to becoming a sovereign people and God could do the same for us that was done for the Hebrew people in the days of Moses.

Look at our situation as the same as the problems the Hebrew people had when they were in bondage in Egypt before the coming of Moses.

I am the way, and besides me, there is no other way for Black Americans ever to become real people in this world.

Hello Earl,

Earl let us be honest here, is not your comment as a revolving door? Your mind should be on a permanent solution and you know that our permanent solution is to come to a position that we could have our own hands on the wheel of our destiny, am I right?

It boggles my mind how my people rationalizes issues.

Hello Ms. Agnes,

You ask this question, ”BLACKS IN AMERICA GET EVERYTHING OWED TO THEM FOR OVER 400 YEARS? Now, what will be on that long list.......?”

Only one answer should be on that long list and that is, a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders to pursue Life, Liberty, Happiness and Prosperity in our own way. This is something that only God can give to us.

Think of our situation the same as the Hebrew people’s situation with Pharaoh. The Hebrew people’s solution was something that only God could give them and God indeed came through for them. Our situation is something that only God could resolve and God will come through for us. I am living proof that God will come through for us because I am Black America’s first genuine prophet.
