So, here I am.
When I'm faced with the challenge of text messaging I can't read! What I mean is-- I am illiterate to texting. I find it's not so surprising however, that I'm not alone. There's plenty of company with me who haven't quite caught on to the phonics of knowing the lingo of text. Perhaps if I'd thought enough to take on learning it a few years ago, by now I'd be a well advanced texter. I guess that what they call themselves. I've been hearing about twitters now too, and I just couldn't bear to be one of them. There's hardly enough time I'd like to devote to telling people what I'm doing in almost every hour of the day. I liked some time alone without the phonics of gadgets!
People everywhere do enjoy using their phones and twitters and feel lost without them. It's enjoyable to them and it's a way of their lifestyles as well. When the cellphone first featured a way to send a text message the language of texting took on a new meaning. -- Not just in convenience but; in a new way of communication. I admit, I had to find some texting terms. Some of them were fun! Text words were exciting to my brain. I even tried to make up a few of my own. Like this one SFAP [Sister from another planet] Here's a few for those of you who may be like me.
55555 -- Crying your eyes out
ADAD--Another day, another dollar [which is quite true where I work!]
NIGI--Now I get it [not really but it's sinking in a bit]
Some of the words range from compliments to insults and I got lost in a whole new language of reading. I think probably the language of texting would drive my English professor crazy! Most english teachers love writing and speaking complex sentences without any punctuation or grammar errors. Since texting is a new language of the cellphone everyone should know a few words to read and write. I guess there's really no way around it if you want to text your message in a fast but understandable way. NALOPKT [Not a lot of people know that] Texting does require your complete attention so please, no texting while driving.
So here I go.
