Facebook Poll Titled Should President Obama be Killed is a Sign of the Times (1240 hits)

A few weeks ago when Congressman Joe Wilson called President Obama a liar it was infuriating. It was clear that this feeling was in his heart and he could not hold it back. It expressed a sentiment that others in the audience would not express. Yesterday marked another disappointing day when someone posted a Facebook poll asking whether President Obama should be killed. There is a ground swell of anti-President Obama people who are making race the issue not health care.

In this case this ugly poll is an indication that the country is taking one step forward and two steps backward. The right to express your self has taken on a whole new meaning. It seems that there is a lack of respect for the office of the president. Having President Obama in office should be an opportunity to demonstrate to the world that the United States can accept all people regardless of race or gender as leaders. We cannot let the people who are limited in foresight to dominate the internet and the news.

It’s time that those who support President Obama stand up in louder voices and express support. The other day I received a Facebook e-mail asking for daily prayer for President Obama. Why not send a flood of e-mail o the White House expressing our support and prayers for President Obama. Why not write a positive article on your blog or to your local newspaper to change the atmosphere of negativity that is buzzing through society. We all can make a difference.

It’s time to move this country forward rather than return to the days when race was presented as a limitation. Let’s not let negativity prevail. We need to send a message that we believe that President Obama is an excellent choice for the Office of the President. The current challenges that this country is facing requires a unified commitment from all of us. People who are on the fringes who promote hate on the internet, radio and television are out of touch. In this moment in history let us stand for the right cause. Dr Stephen Jones is an education expert who you can visit at www.studyskills2u.com.

Dr. Jones,

Well said.

For those who wish to add to your powerful voice, please provide an email address for sending that flood of e-mail to the White House.

Why not create a list of e-mail addresses for those members of congress who financially support this demagoguery so that the people who support President Obama can call them out in force?

We know that the majority of Caucasian-Americans did not vote for our President and a mass of these disenfranchised people were already spawned from the loins of un-American ancestors. After all, they are mostly the same descendants of the people who seceded from the Union in the first place over the same issue - THE COLOR OF SKIN.

CHANGE has come to America and those who are becoming the displaced are fighting with everything they have to STOP that change. However, as shown by the overwhelming election of President Barack Obama by collective people – we have the power, the will and the energy to push aside the ‘old ways’ and bring equality under the Constitution of this country as the guaranteed way of effecting equality – true equality – in America.

Dr. Jones I concur fully. It is quit unfortunate that we have not healed as a nation. We still judge the person by the color of his/her skin rather than the content of his/her character. The “Dream” of Dr. King is still not a reality even though the country has elected for the first time in her history a President who is not a white male. America knows that former President Carter was absolutely correct when he stated that much of the opposition to healthcare and other policies initiated by President Obama is race based. Unfortunately, we are a nation that still fears a non-white head of state. I agree that we must bombard heaven with prayers like never before, but we must also demand that our elected officials enact laws that will make it illegal to bring guns to public rallies regardless of who the speakers are and especially if it is the President of the United states or any other elected official. We simply turned our heads and tried to ignore this just as we ignored Rev. Anderson’s comments to his parishioners that he wished the “President would melt in hell…” This preaching of hate is not only the height of ignorance, but also it promotes fear. I fear that America’s true color is on display before the world. America is telling the world that we expect you to be civil but we are exempted in the name of “freedom of speech and expression”. America must stop and reflect on her sinful history and accept the fact that she still has not repented. She must face her demons, repent and only then can she move forward in her true greatness and be a light to our world. Let us pray for President Obama, his family and all elected and appointment officials. I am convinced that God has raised this President up and brought him to the White House for such a time as this. Let's rally behind this President and remember all those who fail to take a stand for justice in 2010 and 2012.

Hello to everyone,

What I see coming from everyone is an excitement about a Black President Obama by Black Americans. Now, there is nothing wrong with the excitement and that President Obama I would say is a good and meaningful president. However, what happens when his term of office is up, assuming he will serve two terms? What will happen to all the excitement?

It is clear to me that White American people owns the real estate of this country the same as the real estate of China is owned by the Chinese people.

Consequentially, White America’s forefathers put the system and style of government to gather that this country operates under (The Constitution) and in my opinion, it is a very good system of governing. However, I believe that we could create a system of government better than this one. I guess the question that I am alluding only to Black Americans who are descendents of slaves and not the immigrants in this country to answer is what if Black Americans could conceive the thought to have a portion of this continent as our country and start from scratch a system and style of government that would have our fingerprint. Should the thought of having something of your own gratify you more than being a part of or sharing in something that truly belongs to White America?

Those demonstrators that you may believe as radical and crazy feels that this country is theirs. Do you believe that they are right in their feelings?

Now, these problems that you are obsess with as true equality in America mentioned by Mythical Bliss and waiting for the time when we will be judged by the contents of our character rather than the color of our skin as mentioned by Mr. Daniel Grant we would no longer be obsessed with, am I right?

What if we as Black Americans could experience something as what God did for Moses and the Hebrew people while they were in bondage in Egypt? I believe you all know the story of Moses. What I am saying is that a permanent solution to the problems of the two different people were resolved with the solution of the Exodus, am I right?

Now, what if we could become a sovereign people or have complete independence from White America on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders to pursue life, liberty, happiness and prosperity in our own way, do you all think this would be a wonderful thing for Black Americans? Do you think that Black Americans should have our hands on the wheel of our own destiny now that we are 500 years up from slavery and let White America have what they have?

Tell me what you think.

I would suggest that rather than prayers and electronic rallying that we organize a public physical demonstration in support of President Obama and against his detractors, most especially Fox and Beck. A return to 60s type activism. Give them some real news to show in the media.

Hello Steve,

Steve, let us show some intelligence. Had any demonstrations of the 60s resolve anything? If it did, then you tell me what was resolved.

Do forget that we are talking in reference to Black Americans.

What say you?

What would be resolved is to show Obama's attackers are wrong. That he has the support of the people. Are you saying Dr. King's I Have a Dream made no difference?

Steve Williams
I am not talking about Black Americans, but Americans. And resolution proceeds step by step.

Hello to all.

You Negroes cannot suppress your slave mentality since it is deeply engraved in you.

When are you all going to give up the marching, the demonstrating, the protesting, and the whining and complaining to desire a permanent solution?

Steve I am not interested in all Americans. I am interested only in Black Americans who are descendents of slaves. I do not mean any bad to other Americans. In other words, look at it this way. When Moses was in Egypt Moses was interested only in the Hebrew people and not all occupants of Egypt. At the same time, Moses did not mean bad for the others. In addition, Black Americans are worse off than the Hebrew people were. The Hebrew people maintained who they were. They were not Egyptian people and they knew so. However, Blacks has been named Americans after White Americans. Consequentially, Black Americans perhaps do not know that they are different people from White American people.

Now, I could understand expression that we are all Americans coming from you since you are White and not a descendent of slaves. You do understand what I am saying, I hope.

Again, you Negroes need to hatch from the slave mentality egg. The same hatching the Hebrew people had to do you Negroes are going to experience as well. God has sent me to bring you al out of this subjugated conditions.

What say you?

I told you guys Civil War is coming. This facebook poll is an opener to minds out there to start thinking how they can kill the n*gga. The election of a blackman to Prez was a proud moment for some African Americans but to those of us whom know America hasn't really changed that much think it's not a good idea nor is it progress. Yes Obama being the first Black Prez is not progress it's a tell tale sign of how hypocricital this country really is. I mean Oscar Grant a blackmale gets killed while lying prone on his back in Oakland less than a few weeks after Obama became the Elect_President. This happened in front of dozens of witnesses and was recorded on numerous cameras yet there's a divide over whether or not this young man was murdered. Ocourse Oscar Grant was murdered but the point is that some of the same folks whom voted for Obama and claim they aren't racist see it that Oscar Grant deserved to die. This isn't change we can believe in. The fact most white Democrats have no problem expressing some of the same anti-Black views as Republicans shows this isn't change. When will some of you pigmie brain people wake up? Start alerting people to the real fact. We are headed for disaster in this country because of the election of Barrack Obama. And if he gets re-elected this hatemongering and war stirring will only intensify until it boils over into race riots like the early 20th century. You guys with this protest mentality are the causing this just as much as the racist whites because you're confrontational and you knew these type of things would happen. Yet no one can tell you arrorant self proud negroes there's a better way for us to progress. That's by not pushing ourselves on White America but building up our communities from within. So what Obama is Prez when the average Blackmale is out of work, in prison or on dope? Do you get the point? I don't think so. Shaking my head.

Greetings all, This all is serious business and we have to remain focused. In my view whatever we do has to come from the right energy place. Right now the racism comes from fear energy, hate energy etc. We cannot convey that. (am not suggesting anyone on this blog is just commenting) We do not need to add to that pool of energy in any way because it will only escalate things. Like it or not white and black are bound together. There is no turning back and we are going to sink or swim together. The power and strength and beauty of our culture is what we need to embrace and what we need to share. We have capacities developed through crucifixion and creativity that we need to use to embrace all of humanity. We admire Dr. King but often fail to hearken to his way. How do we appeal to the best in ourselves and others not the beast. We have to be honest but we always have to show love. And lest anyone cut me off, love is not a weak response. King was not a weak man, he just choose to come from motivation of love not fear, not hate. It keep him calm in the storm. Love manifested itself sometimes in warmth but other times in his strong stands against racism-point being he tried never to allow himself to be motivated by anger hate and fear. Brothers and sisters that is the battle I fight with myself, to maintain that spirit. Whatever we do that is the spirit we need. Let' send the Obama family that kind of juice in all the multiple ways we can. And let's send this country the same juice. Proud to be amongst you all.

Tod, I am with you. I believe peaceful demonstrations are in order, not about health care, racism or anything negative, but about unity, peace, and constructive discourse on solving problems concretely, not ideologically.

I chant(pray)that this free speech issue get back before the supreme court, before some one gets hurt or killed.Any one who believes that killing our president will not start a civil war or race war or what ever label one wants to put on it is ________!!!!!!!!

It is not like this is about politice and not the hundreds of years of hatered for someone different than you are is a shame...and, once again I will say if our president had the skin color of his mother and not his father's we would not even be having this conversation...

Brother Steve, all politics is local. In a small town in Ca. 8 members of the neonatzi group held a public paradea few days ago and the town shut them down. They had a permit to do this but the people of that town said that they did not accept this kind of hate there and the police did not stop them from shutting it down peacefully as they did.

You can bring this idea up in your church, you schools, PTAs, jobs or just hold a public meeting. Set a date and call the media. Or just get together and go to your capital or even you chamber of commerce or you local court house or radio station or tv statio or just a big mal with signs. You will be so surprised at how soon it will catch on. The main thing is to just get it started and get media coverage. It does not matter if it is one person or two...just get it started...hell, go hold a sit in at you news paper's entrance or parking lot... it is so simple to get started...please get it out of your mind that it takes hundreds of people to go into action.

You can not get to the number 2 without the number 1 coming first(smile)lov ya all...YES WE CAN...YES WE MUST...

I do know that at this rate of it seeming that no one who is expect to be out front is out front or even acting like they still exist, so some thing has got to give...

but, we now have the internet to plan and to exchange ideals like this...I believe that each of us are in some way protecting the future of this country as going to be more tolarent of others God and moral and legal rights.

And, for some unexplained reason, today "I" feel more relaxed that "I" have in months. I do chant (pray) this is not the calm before the storm...therefore , I would like to ask does anyone else feel more relaxed and at peace?????....
