If we want better communities, it's time for some truth telling. (361 hits)

Phyllis Holly ward a community activist and the CEO of Success Links LLC has written a great article about what it will take to build up our black communities. One in which she writes:

We can no longer cry that something is holding us down when in our homes and schools it is acceptable for our children to walk around with their pants hanging down off their butts. I once heard a very wise man say, "If you want to know where the future of your community is going, look at our children, because they are it. But when looking, keep in mind that someone led them to where they are."

Hello Mr. Cook,

Your blog said this, “Phyllis Holly community activist writes We can no longer cry that something is holding us down when in our homes and schools it is acceptable for our children to walk around with their pants hanging down off their butts.” "If you want to know where the future of your community is going, look at our children, because they are it.”

Mr. Cook, Black Americans does not control anything not even their own lives. White America controls every facet of Black Americans lives.

For instance, you imply that because Black children are wearing their pants below their butts Black parents are not doing a very good job of raising their children. I beg to differ with you Mr. Cook. About 25 or 30 years ago White America issued a frightening law to Black parents that if they raise their children traditionally as they were raised they would be arrested by Child Protective Custody agencies on child abuse charges, thrown in jail and their children placed in foster care. As a result, children used to come home from school and tell their parents that if they hit them they will tell the principal the next day. Parents now were hampered from raising their children. I have personally witnessed children threatening their parents.

Then, you say that Black parents have no one to blame but themselves. I am afraid that you are screwed up in the head, Mr. Cook.

White America is to blame for the people that Black Americans are today and will be tomorrow.

Our only permanent solution is that we become a sovereign people or have complete independence from White America that we could deal with our own problems otherwise, our next generation is going to be worse than this present generation. Am I making any sense with you?

I am the way, and besides me, there is no other way for Black Americans ever to become a real people in this world.

I am anointed as Black Americans first genuine prophet. Our sovereignty is going to happen.

Tell me what you think.
