More African Americans turning to Islam (357 hits)

The Muslim faith continues to convert many average African-Americans, who say they are attracted by Islam's emphasis on equality, discipline and family.

One convert Sekou Jackson says, "The unique history African-Americans have faced, we're primed for accepting Islam,"

"When someone comes to you with a message that everyone is equal, that the only difference is the deeds that they do, of course people who have been oppressed will embrace that message," said Jackson "It's a message of fairness."

Hello Mr. Cook,

Mr. Cook it is out of desperation, ignorance and no divine directions that Black Americans who are descendents of slaves turns to Islam. Surely, they will have to turn back to their own divine religion. Mr. Sekou Jackson does not have divine guidance, therefore what guides him except his own emotions and ignorance?

Let me say this to all. The arguments and discrepancies that you all have amongst each other and have been having since slavery days to the present day clearly shows that we as a people are with out Divine guidance, am I right? Robert has no divine guidance. Siebra have no divine guidance. Mr. Farrakhan has no divine guidance. Jeremy and his two friends have no divine guidance. Am I right?

Right now our arguments and discrepancies circles around religions. It is clear that the religions that we argue over belong to people other than who we are as a people.

Firstly, we are mentally unable to determine for ourselves that since there are different religions surely we should have our own religion as well. For instance, it is a settled fact that there are three great religions, Judaism, Islam and Christianity. By virtue of common sense and divine precedence, we should understand that different people each have their own religion.

Judaism belongs to the Hebrews or the Jewish people. The Jewish people are the descendents of Moses and before Moses stretching back to Abraham. These people by a preponderance of evidence are the people in the state of Israel today.

The Islamic religion belongs to the Arabian people. The Arabian people are the people in Arabia today and not the land mass that Arabia was 1500 years ago.

The Christian religion mainly belongs to White European people and all others referred to as Gentiles that are scattered throughout the world. It was Constantine and King James who had a lot to do with what Christianity is today.

Now, here we are Black Americans who are descendents of slaves and our group of people are no more than 500 years old yet arguing over other people’s religion that is thousands of years old.

We are a people produced out of the ashes of slavery and we are mentally unable to understand that. In other words, we have not settled on who we are because we really do not know yet.

When White American men mostly of British descent bred themselves on a consistent basis with the first wave of pure blood African slave women of different kinds over 300 years produced a people such as us that I commonly referred to as descendents of slaves. Why it is that you all have mental difficulty, comprehending what I am saying to you is beyond me.

Some of you seem to think that our ancestors are Egyptian people while some of you seem to think that your ancestors were kings and queens in Africa as well. We are some dummy people and I wish that you all would stop this madness. Do you all not understand that we are a new breed or race of people produced out of the breeding process between White men and the first wave of African slave women? Consequentially, our beginning began in slavery. We are not those African slaves brought from Africa and neither is we those White people that came from England. We are a new breed or race of people born out of the ashes of slavery.

Now, how could we rationally say that any one of the three great religions is ours? Actually, none of these religions is divinely ours. Before anyone of us could intelligently say anything, you first need to understand how religions come to a people.

For instance, ask yourself how was Islam introduced into the world? The obvious and only answer is through Prophet Mohammed. Now you know how religions are introduced into the world, it is by way of a genuine prophet from God.

Ask yourself the same question about Christianity. How was Christianity introduced into the world? Christianity was introduced into the world by Prophet Christ Jesus even though he had nothing to do with it. Nevertheless, the religion is named after him and therefore it is accepted that Jesus introduced the religion of Christianity even though Constantine and King James had a lot to do with it.

Anyway, let me cut it short and ask all of you why are you all arguing over other people’s religion as if it was your own? Has any prophet besides me brought to you a religion? If not, then why do you have these other people’s religion and you are not of these people?

The divine religion of Black Americans who are descendents of slaves is “The Salvation of God for Black Americans who are Descendents of Slaves”

Tell me what you think.

It's hardly a development when you consider the majority the slaves brought here were Muslims and Yoruba. Not many are talking about the hundreds if not thousands of African Americans in the South that are flocking to Yoruba and it's traditions!

40% of the slaves brought here in the 18th century were Yoruba. Yoruba was a great African colony that migrated from where Eqypt is to the Middle East then back into West Africa. They had great ancestors whom they defied called the Orishas whom were extrodinary people when they lived. Formulas and secret knowledge was passed down from generation to generation on how to keep alive their properous traits of these noble ancestors. Yoruba tradition is based upon drum as meditation and chant as prayer. The dances were coordination of spiritual and will in fused together when heavenly and lunar cycles. Many people do not know that Voo Doo comes from this tradition and others like it in West Africa. Islam is a hybrid religion that came from the MiddleEast invading Africa. Little do we know!

Hello Mr. Washington,

All of what you say is ignorance and nonsense to Black Americans who are descendents of slaves.

Black Americans who are descendents of slaves have neither ancestors in West Africa nor any religion such as Yoruba.

Black Americans are a new breed or race of people that has emerged out of the ashes of slavery. Black Americans were all born into slavery and it is because of the breeding process between White men mostly of British descent with the first wave of pedigree African slave women of different kinds that lasted over 300 years.

Today we are neither Africans nor Caucasians or anything else in between. Again, we are a new breed or race of people that has emerged out of the ashes of slavery.

Since we are a new breed or race of people all that we get will be new as well beginning with our religion. Our religion is, “The Salvation of God for Black Americans Who Are Descendents of Slaves”

Out of our tragic circumstances are many golden advantages. Firstly beginning with our sovereignty or complete independence on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders. We ought to look forward to because we are going to inherit a portion of this continent left to us from our enslaved ancestors. Next, we will develop a culture, educational system, medical system, agriculture system, industrial system, and democratic government second to none and a thriving economy. These are the things that you should have in your mind and not that ancient nonsense.

I want you all to stop your nonsense and your idiotic ways to move forward and not looking backwards because we are going to come together as one people in our own country to build a civilization second to none.

Okay.

JohnHarry,
AlIslaam has never invaded any nation.
Through trade and social interaction AlIslaam has become the way of life for more than 2Billion members of the Family of Adaam; worldwide.
AlIslaam is the continuation of the Monotheist Thought of The Creator to the first Man, Adaam; to mosesMusa, to jesusIsaIbnMaryam and Mohamed(as).
AlIslaam is defined by AlQur'aan-
a work of Scholarship that has been uninterrupted in the Original Language and Thought for 1430 years; before the establishment of any eurocentricchristian thought and precedes the establishment of the English Language by 600 years.

In America the Muslim population is greater than the populations of many American christianity sects; Pentecostal, jehovah witness, Presbyterian, Mormon, Non-denominational Christians, Church of Christ, Episcopal/Anglican, Assemblies of God, Congregational, United Church of Christ, Seventh-Day Adventist and Lutheran.

As Our Leader President Baraka Hussein Obama has said, "Islam is an American Religion".

Hello Robert,

I agree with the things you say concerning Al Islam and Al Quran.

Where you and I differ is that I know Al Islam is not the religion of Black Americans who are descendents of slaves. I also know that Al Quran is not a religious book of Black Americans who are descendents of slaves.

The predominant people in Al Quran are Arabian people. Likewise, the predominant people in the Bible are the Hebrew or Jewish people.

Black Americans who are descendents of slaves are not in Al Quran. Black Americans who are descendents of slaves did not fight in the battle of Barr or HUD. Arabian people fought in those battles. Angel Gabriel did not come to any Black Americans who are descendents of slaves. Angel Gabriel came to Prophet Mohammed an Arab man. How difficult is that for you to understand that Al Islam is an Arabian religion?

You seem to think that I disagree with the things you say about the Arabian people, their Arab Prophet Mohammed, their Arabian religion of Al Islam and their Arabian religious book Al Quran. I believe that it is a wonderful religion for the Arabian people. However, I love and appreciate that God had given Black Americans who are descendents of slaves our own religion. Black America’s religion is, “The Salvation of God for Black Americans who are Descendents of Slave

Black Americans has their own religion that corresponds to our particular circumstances. Likewise, the Arabian people have Al Islam, which corresponds to what was their particular problem of paganism when Allah anointed Prophet Mohammed to convert the Arabian people to Al Islam. The problem of paganism is not the problem of Black Americans. Therefore, any Black Americans embracing the religion of Al Islam are ignorant. Am I making any good sense with you, Robert?

Again, I agree with Al Islam except that I am saying that Islam is an Arab religion and Black Americans who are descendents of slaves are not Arabian people. How difficult is that for you to understand?

Now, if I am wrong show me why Al Islam should be the religion of Black Americans who are descendents of slaves.

What say you?

Mr. Murphy,

This Blog concerns the reversion of Americans to the Monotheist Religion of AlIslaam.

I see that you do not understand AlIslaam, because you begin your post questioning the Political Democracy in Iraq of Sunni, shia and kurd Political Parties set up by President George Bush.

Sunni Muslims account for 1,900,000,000--1.9 Billion -----
from America to Moscow to Indonesia and Kurds throughout the world.

Shia Muslims are 75Million Iranians, some Iraqis and some gulf and pakistani. 15Million

There are no sects-----in AlIslaam----
there are a lot of Muslim Majority populations in the world that have Political Leadership--since colonialism----that are sect-tarian from AlIslaam.

Islam is a hybrid religion which has enormous traces of late Hebrew and early Christian tenets. Also is infused is ancient matriochial names of Goddesses turned into Gods. You are ignorant of history if you don't know this and you should refrain yourself from criticizing seeing that you're without knowledge.

This is what is meant by some of you are here to cause confusion. You come to the table to debate with the facts not on your side. Some of you are doing this deliberately and others are just arrogant.

Islam invaded Africa! And Islam turned Africans into slaves and took over the coastal areas from Africans. That's why Morrocco, Libya, Eygpt and alot of the coastal states of North Africa are Islamic ran by Arabs! You got half breeds calling the shots on the continent with Arabs running it in the background in some parts even in Sudan this is where it's worse!

I have no time to debate with fools.

Derek,
southernchristianPresident George Bush led American Tax Payers on a "Crusade" in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Yes this is about Religion--

Christians have taught Americans over the years many false things about religion, from 1492-1964 most christian thought deNiggrated noneuropean people with stories of blondhair blue-eyed God, jesus.

Christians have taught Americans False ideas about japanese, vietnamese, communists, and Muslims------

All these False ideas have Hurt America and The Family of Adaam.

AlIslaam is the Evolution of The Thought of Monotheism, to be a Muslim one must accept in the Original Preserved Form, the Development of the Sons/Daughters of Adaam through the Torah, the Zaboour, the Ingeel and through the Prophets thru mosesMusa, and finally thru Mohamed.

John,
A stereotype of BIA is that BIA men are angry, ignorant and lazy.
Scholarship and Comprehension would shatter that Ignorance.

If you could travel in the World; Educate by Observing things that you only fantasize about, you may become educated.

eurocentric christian thought Falsely claim that Islam invaded something?
Not Facts ---- but europeans invaded everyplace, where Muslims were.

In the histories of any African or Asian Nation;
You; or your Racialist scholarship providers find NO evidence of That LIE.

Study the History of Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia and Visit;
Expand your limited Intelligence for Facts.

Study the History of Kenya,

The Islamic World to 1600

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The early Islamic penetration of Africa was limited to the north, across Egypt and the Maghrib. By the 13th century, however, the religion had travelled further south, through the work of missionaries and along trade routes, into sub-Saharan Africa. The gold kingdoms of West Africa were one area in which Islam established itself.

The Kingdom of Ghana had ruled much of West Africa, and had controlled much of the gold and salt trade in the region, immediately prior to the arrival of Islam. This kingdom covered a wide expanse of territory in West Africa, but it must be noted that it did not correspond to the territory of the present-day country of Ghana. The spread of the Muslim Almoravids from Morocco into Ghana in the mid-11th century marked the beginning of Ghana's downfall, and by the 13th century it had completely disappeared as a state.

The Kingdom of Mali soon filled the void left by the collapse of Ghana, and some of Mali's leaders adopted the religion brought by the invading Almoravids - Islam. Because the Kingdom of Mali controlled all three of the main gold fields in West Africa, whereas Ghana had controlled only one, it grew very wealthy and Timbuktu rose as a major trading city. The most influential and memorable ruler of Mali was Mansa Musa, who ruled from 1312 to 1337, over what has been called the "Golden Age" of Mali. He is generally credited with solidifying the presence of Islam in West Africa, which until his rule was present only in missions and Muslim trading posts, although the religion still had little influence on the general population. As well, Mansa Musa was instrumental in expanding his kingdom's gold trade to the Mediterranean, through increased trading ties with the Merinid empire in North Africa and the Mamluks in Egypt. Mansa Musa is also well known for his pilgrimage to Mecca, which he undertook in 1324. It was reported in sources of the time that he brought 60,000 followers, 500 slaves, and 80 camels with him, all carrying gold. Passing through Tripoli and Cairo, among other cities, also helped in developing trade relationships with foreign cities, because Mali's wealth in gold did not go unnoticed.

Mansa Musa brought architects and builders back with him as he returned from his pilgrimage, and soon Timbuktu was a commercial city of 100,000 people. Public buildings, mosques, and libraries were built, and traders came from all over Europe, the Islamic world, and other parts of Africa to do business in Timbuktu. Scholars also came from afar to study at the prestigious University of Sankore.

Timbuktu's importance continued to grow as the Kingdom of Mali faded under the increasing power of one of Mali's subject peoples, the Songhai. The Songhai empire, which had completely eclipsed Mali by the late 14th century, was the last of what has been called the "Great Three" West African empires - after Ghana and Mali. Songhai built upon the existing Islamic tradition established by the Kingdom of Mali, and most of Songhai's 17 kings, the administrators, and the bureaucrats in urban centres were Muslim. The faith did not spread through the general population, however, and most of the kingdom's subjects retained their adherence to traditional religions. Many of those who did convert to Islam, including Songhai's rulers, combined elements of their ancestral religions with Islam. Sonni Ali, the Songhai ruler from 1465 to 1492, once declared that he could turn himself into a vulture, and he severely persecuted any Muslim who criticised the paganism of that statement.

Under the reign of Askia Muhammad (1493-1529), Songhai became the largest empire in West Africa at the time, covering much more territory than either Ghana or Mali ever had, and including over one thousand different cultures. The Songhai empire strengthened the trading ties that Mansa Musa had established with other Islamic empires in Africa - most notably, the Merinids in the Maghrib, and the Mamluks in Egypt. By 1591, however, the kingdom had become too large to administer, and an invasion from Morocco that year virtually destroyed the empire. Its Islamic legacy, however, remains in many places in West Africa today
