I may live in Western New York, but I'm not a Buffalo Bills fan. I wasn't one when running back OJ Simpson was a player. I wasn't one when quarterback Jim Kelly led them to four Super Bowls and they lost them all. I'm not one now.
During an NFL broadcast of the Cowboys game, former Indianapolis Colts Coach Tony Dungey announced that Michael Vick could be a Bills player if the Eagles don't resign him after this season. Frankly, Vick isn't seeing a lot of playing time this season. The Bills wanted to sign him last year, but they passed on him, and the Eagles got him.
The problem that I have with the Vick-in-Buffalo discussion is too many people are focusing on his dog fighting and not his talent. I'm sorry; Vick has done his time. Why are we rehashing this? Why do certain segments of our society feel he needs to be punished further? Give me a break! Too many other athletes have done worse crimes and people seem to turn the other cheek. Vick is 29 years old, has talent, and needs to go somewhere he can best utilize his skills.
If the Bills are smart, they should sign him. The way they are playing right now; they need all the talent and help, they can get. Their fans need something to cheer about. I'm tired of seeing TO's sad face.
