Food for the mind - Black Indians in the United States http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Indians This article took me back for a moment because of this paragraph "the first example of African slaves' escaping from European colonists and being absorbed by Native Americans was recorded in 1526. In June of that year, Lucas Vasquez de Ayllon established a Spanish colony near the mouth of the Pee Dee River in what is now eastern South Carolina. The Spanish settlement was named San Miquel de Guadalupe. Amongst the settlement were 100 enslaved Africans. In 1526, the first African slaves fled the colony and took refuge with local Native Americans[7] Intermarriage between African slaves and Native Americans began occurring in the early 1600s" The article presents that Africans and native Indians were settling in what is now South Carolina, almost a 100 years before Jamestown. For me, it exposes the falsehood about how the first Africans came to this country. The truth (and Indians has known this info all along) is that the Native African family and the Native Indian family share a hidden history long before Jamestown. Just another piece of history and I present it for anyone interested.

I am a very proud member of this group of people. My grandmother made sure that our entire family was well informed of our heritage. I was so inspired of this revelation that while attending Rutgers University I had a special topics course titled " Black Indians" which was taught by Dr. Katrina Hazzard-Donald. I have so many books, writings and other readings about this. Some of which was assigned and others from my own research. The one thing that intrigued me the most about the history of Native Americans was the story of how so many were " supposedly" wiped out. I found it very hard to believe that anyone could completely wipe out the amount of people that was equivalent to the size of the state of Texas all at one time and no one notices. I don't believe those stories in fact I believe that Native Americans were categorized by skin tone and hair texture and segregated in that fashion. Fascinating information and a major eye and mind opening learning experience.

what is a Black Indian?
what is a White Indian?
what is a Red Indian?
what is a Yellow Indian?
what is a Black American?
what is a White American?
what is a Red American?
Once we as Americans get away from ColoredRacialist Thought we may then be able to be The Change we have been waiting for.

Hello to all,
Okay, having said all that and all the points are taken, now where do we go from here?
In other words, what is the bottom line of all that has been said about the Indians and the Black slaves?
Do we forget about our sovereignty on the portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders or do we continue marching for towards having our hands on the helm of our own destiny?
Do not you all want to be a sovereign people?

Hello to all,
Again, since 98% of you all are Black Americans who are descendents of slaves how does what you all are saying have anything to do with our sovereignty or complete independence on a portion of this continent?
In what direction are we moving? Do we know which way is up?
In other words, at the end of the day what has the information giving here benefits our desire to be a sovereign people or have complete independence on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders.

What you are essentially saying is that race does not matter, but it does. First, let me make this clear skin color is race.
Some years ago, psychologists made a study on how important race is. The psychologists conducted an experiment and presented to a Black female child a White doll and a Black doll then asked the child, which doll she prefers. Of course, the Black child picked the White doll, which was out of character of the Black child life, culture, ethnicity or race. In essence, the Black child was saying she would rather be White, that she is not please being Black, am I right.
Now, with your dumb self Mr. Robert what do you suppose has happened to the well-being of that Black child’s mind? In addition, there are as many dumb and ignorant adults as you are Mr. Robert as that Black child is.
What say you?

And, may I add... if your state has a major university then they are guarenteed to have Ethnic departments and here you can take classes/ get the best books on this subjects...one thing I learnded is that the Native American culture is almost a mirror of our own as we both give such respect to Mother Nature which had so much to do with each race's culture being called Savages and anti- Christian God...
...something the White man now deems as preventing Global Warming (that we were practicing back then)which is seen as being created by Al Gore(you know that White man)?smile?

Clark, that is my main point, because the story of the Trail of tears does not tell about this was caused was because these Indians had become educated amonge their own selves with a written language which was a major threat, but the last straw was when G-O-L-D was discovered on their lands...today it is oil...or how these poeple actually willed themselves to die rather than accpet salvery or being moved against their will ...THE GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH IS RELATED TO THE WHITE MAN...(SMILE)

Wright and Minister Farrakhan are seen as the enemy and not the Minister Jesse Jackson who would never re to say things this in public that you hav just done...KNow that you(we) come from a proud peoples and not from the HAPPY SLAVES who became human only by way of being put into slavery and suffering because this is the only way for us to get into heaven...my thanks to you for this...it is called we came here with a mission and that wa to be too proud to be broken down into a catagory of labels put on us by everyone but us who have such pride and self worth...Can I get an AMEN,(smile)

And, this is why "I" have no problem with the WASP at all. I do pity them though as life is too be enjoyed not wasted away on hate or envy or a person's name, etc.(smile)

Harry, you would be correct if you had not distorted the facts of physicology study and not Justie's Marshell's example o the Supreme court as related to getting Brown vs Board of Education passed as the very law the you are trying to get us to violate and flllow you...You see you want to violate the man anGod's laws taht dictates we are EQUAL...you want us to return to the JIm Crow laws that SEPARATE IS EQUAL...WAKE UP....or at least make and effort to find out whatit is that you are seeking from the public at large...therefore you are trying to correct God's work n creating man in his image an you creat man in your image, Harry...The onlydifference is that God "did" and you want the public to help you do this sometimes after they make UP THEIR MINDS TO FOLLOW YOU...please give me a break!smile!
#also please take note that psycology is the science of the study of the individual(which you your self have already admitted that you do not recoginze at all)
Sociology is the science/study of the group...Brown vs Board of Education is more about the group orAmerican citizens/public schoos, places...and the violations of their Civil Rights, Harry(smile)
