It snowed on the East Coast yesterday. Our streets in Upstate New York are covered with three inches of snow. I was so thankful that I cleaned out my garage over the summer and could now park my car in it. Along with the snow came the bitter cold and wind. Brrr.
Another three inches are predicted for tonight. Our snowplower comes to plow out my driveway when there are three inches or more. I can't shovel because of my illness. I was mentally prepared for our snowfall because it was December; but I really would have preferred another week of not seeing the white stuff.
I dug out my youngest daughter's boots, her scarf, mittens, and a hat. She was delighted that I found her stuff. Her school chorale concert is tonight and we both hope the wind dies down so the event isn't cancelled.
The reality for us is that it just wouldn't feel like Christmas without the snow. The first snowfall is always the prettiest. Then it becomes yucky after the car's exhaust fumes and other debris settle in the snow.
If I controlled the weather, I would have it just snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I know that would bring joy to my world.
