Hello MIISRAEL! What's going on in WHTMT? [WinniespoetryHometown Memphis Tennessee]
I have a couple of Christmas Stories that might remind you of the book A Christmas Carol. You might find a Scrooge, but it's only Hometown Memphis own.
You'll have to stay. At least for a little while...

This story begins..with a cold.
THE SCROOGE
Bah! humbug!
HIS GHOSTS DISAPPEARED AND... SO DID A REPAIRMAN WHO LEFT GRANDMA IN THE COLD!

A South Memphis grandmother says that it's been nearly two years since she paid a repairman for a new home heating furnance for her home. However, he took her money and cents and never came back leaving her in the cold. The 71 year old resident said that she paid him with a money order in the amount of $1000.00. Then he said he'd be back with the new heating unit. The grandmother said she waited.....and....waited....and waited..... And waited. He never came back. The grandmother tried calling him, but only got a recording and finally the number was no longer in service. The service was offered by a company Weathertron but the addresss of the service doesn't exist. Just to caution those who may be approached by this Scrooge and his company, he and his business has been given an "F" Rating from the Better Business Bureau.
What a Scrooge! Disappearing and leaving her in a cold house! He's going to get visited by "Jacob Marley!" I can hear the chains rattling!....

Free Christmas baskets were given away to hundreds of Memphians yesterday, as they attended the yearly Mayor's giveaway. The give away was given by Memphis Mayor A.C. Wharton at the Mid South Fairgrounds on Friday, December 11, 2009. The give away was well attended by hundreds. City employees assisted with volunteering and the boxes and baskets were loaded with everything needed to make a Christmas meal! Greg Young, the special assistant to Mayor Wharton, said that it's location was considered to be the best central location, and that they tried to make the giveaways as easy and helpful as possible. Many who attended were pleased and thankful. Boxes contained a turkey with all the trimmings!

Now all THE Scrooges better watch out! You don't want that Dark Grimm Spirit to remind on this Christmas Eve's Night. Be nice and not Naughty this Christmas Holiday and let no Bah-humbugs be in your way. If you haven't a change of heart and warm with merit....Then you'll be visited by the Christmas Spirit!
However, I know the real meaning of Christmas to me....
It's a Spiritual Celebration...

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold three wise men came to Jerusalem, saying where is He who has been born of the Jews? For we have seen the star in the East and has come to worship him.
