The Queen's Chair: Pat Robertson's Insensitive Remarks About Haiti Will Send Him Straight To Hell (133 hits)

Pat Robertson opened up his mouth again, but this time his comments have upset many others. Robertson actually believes that Haiti's earthquake is a blessing in disguise. He believes that Haiti is being "punished" for making a pact with the devil --a true story he claims--because they were under French rule and the heel of King Napolean III. The Haitian natives agreed to serve the evil in exchange for their freedom. He says some people don't want you to know about this.

Robertson then added once Haitians obtained their independence, they have been "cursed" ever since. He noted that because sall the buildings didn't fall down, it would take a massive rebuilding of the country to get it right. He notes that Haiti and the Dominician Republic are on the island of Hispanola. He suggests that the Dominician Repulic is prosperous because it has resorts and the citizens believe in Christianity. He offers hope that the Haitian community will finally accept Christ and once they do, their luck will change. He's keeping them in his prayers.

Funny, I remember Haiti's independence from the French differently. There's no blessing in this type of situation. I guess Robertson thinks it's alright for children to lose parents, for innocent lives to be lost, and for people to suffer who are in need of water, food, medicine and shelter. Pat Robertson needs to think before he speaks and keep his "biased and half-twit" opinions to himself.
