If your forefathers were born on the Motherland. And our First Mother was from African. Why do we still carry the Slave Masters Names , and speak his language. With no regard to learn a African Language or Change our names Legally. I beleive President Obama would not receive the Great respect he receives if he had a Slave family name. I legally change my name over 25 years, and receive a level of respect that the average Ph.d holder could only imagine.

AlHamdullilahi Rabilalameen----

Very important, and also important is the language one uses to think and communicate ones significance. And of course the Scholarship one uses to define family, community and The Creator.

Now, some of our forefathers were born in the motherland on the Rhine River and the Black Forest.

Abu, you began this about your self with the use of "I"...for which "I" gather you did this for your self, am I right?!?

Well, your question is not about you your self, but if I am correct you are asking others why they do not do what you did to please "YOU",your own s elf????????

Or, will you accept someone else as doing things to make them happy with their own selves as you have done...

or to make a long story short, I already have an identity that I am satisfied with and since "I" am the only one who can live my life / know what I like, don't like, my answer is I love and respect who and what I am therefore "I" write you this answer as Mrs. Irma Robinson and in English although my first language is Ebonics....(smile)

ps. Irma is from my grandmother who died giving birth to my mother(I wear this name with pride)............Robinson is my married name(I wear with pride) PEACE
