They come in pairs and knock on your door...sharing their Watch Tower magazine...Their buildings are a pretty brick and stands out....But what Good do they contribute to the neighborhood...lets list them: (1) dah (2) Umm (3) humbug Can't seem to list anything....may need your help...What good is the Jehovah Witness ? They seem to have a modified Bible

Sounds like the Jehovah Witness teachings instilled some good values in your oldest daughter. With so many terrible vices prevalent in the black neighborhoods, its a blessing for your granddaughters not to have been affected as of yet. What about the 40 million other black Americans ? Should they just go to Hell ? Is there a radio or TV station that ministers to the masses...or is it the hell with the masses. If the Jehovah Witness have something of value then it should be shared with the community to uplift the neighborhood. They should have community banquets, a day to feed the homeless, a day at the park and minister to the community. Why keep things in 4 walls unless they fear that someone will question them. Do they fear that they will be called to account. What about that modified Bible....Do they not want to be questioned. Similar to your experience, every Kingdom Hall that I have ever saw has been impressive....but so is the massive jail house downtown....its brick and sturdy too.

Well, Irma, when a person has the truth then they should be able to interact, worship or fellowship with any. So, have visited many churches, kingdom halls and mosques to name a few. Also, have been to the Moorish Americans Temples and others. How can one speak intelligent about something if they have not been there themselves. So, I do know what the churches, kingdom halls and mosques and temples teach. Why,...because have been there done that.

When you go to the Kingdom hall, they generally have bibles in seating shoulders. The Bibles appear to be differant than the bibles typical of a Black Church...for one thing....the name Jehovah is inserted throughout the Bible as oppose to Christ. No big deal because there was a time when Almighty God went by the name Jehovah as he has used other names in the span of human history. For example, in my neighborhood they use to call me "horse boy" because I was one of only kids in the neighborhood that rode and had horses. They don't call me that today.

Well, Irma....my parents were very picky about who would baby sit my baby sister growing up. Generally Muslims were the only ones that my mother allowed to baby sit us. It stemmed from one time letting a Christian lady baby sit and she brought her own lunch and was eating some PORK in our house. OH....my mother was not happy to say the least.....Since then the only one that my parents let baby sit was a Jehovah Witness family. They were no very nice. and respected my family beliefs and guidelines.
But, anyway....After visiting the Kingdom Halls what can be said therefore.....my understanding of their beliefs are better understood. Their values can be commended but the structure is close to hypnotism in the way that little room is left for debate or human questioning...Almost like man and woman cannot think for themselves. The kingdom Hall buildings are a positive influence, no question. Buildings are well kept and landscape is well groomed. But, helping human beings, the crown of God creation realize they are rational and thinking individuals....seems to be supressed and leave to human initiative. Everthing must be along the lines the Watchtower teachings have set. That is not good for the Black Community.

mAYBE i AM JUST PREJUDICE OR BIASED, because my oldest daughter and tow of my grand children are Jehovah Witness that I get to say...my duaghter is college educated has always haeld a job, ownes her own home had her children after marriage and college...my oldest gradn child is in her first year of college has worked since she was i6 the tohre one is a senior in high school, same things no drugs, no arrest, ect and positives in all sense o the words on society and the planet...Jamla is this worth something or shuold they just be condemen on your say so as not worthy???(smile)
there is a Kingdom Hall about a mile from where I live which is a beautiful and well kept bulden not like a lot of those closed for sale homes in these new housing developments near here wdhich are eye sores and some are being used to grow and make drugs.(smile)
but, I am sure that you would rather the Kingdom Hall go if any thing must go, huh or DAH or UMM or HUMBUG...LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

wrong again Jamal...my daughter already had her children when she became a member of this religion...Her choice as a responsible adult knowing full well that only she could live her life for her self.(smile)
Jamal, the only life "I" am responsible for is mine... This is very hard to do if one does not love themself first. YOU KNOW THAT OLD SAYING ABOUT LOOKING OUT FOR YOUR SELF IS BEING SELFISH????!!!!! Those good old days of accepting abuse as a right /a way of life are over for many of us females as well as males.(smile)
Oh, Jamal, what is this all of a sudden keeping things hidden...sis't you say your self they go to people's homes and knock on the doors to share their religious teachings????? And, as far as jails go Dr. M. L. King was in jail...some people are found innocent after having been to jail...
What faith do you practice Jamal, and has anyone of your faith ever been in jail?... been poor?...never finished school grade or college or high school?
What in their Bible did they modify and how do you know this, Jamal?
PLEASE LETS START WITH WHICH RELIGION DO YOU PRACTICE, JAMAL..AND WERE YOU BORN INTO IT OR DID YOU CHOOSE IT AS AN ADULT????? you see I do believe taht we are all born a blank slate as far as language out side of crying....(smile)

THE KINDOM HALLS , THE PLACE OF WORSHIP IS A POSITIVE ATTRACTION IN THE BLACK NEIGHBORHOOD, ESPECIALLY IN RUN a DOWN COMMUNITY.....(SMILE)
