Join the Providence Effect to Save American Education – Our Grassroots Movement Has Gone Social! (154 hits)

In the first eight weeks of this year alone, the phrase “education reform” has been breached in the President’s State of the Union Address, by news stations and education groups as well as inside homes, teachers’ lounges and in administration offices. It has become evident to most Americans that the standards of the American education system are not only falling behind the rest of the world, but more importantly, failing our children who will have to take up the torch in future generations of building this country.

There are pages on Facebook dedicated to it, groups on LinkedIn fighting for it, and Twitter is abuzz with discord and discussion over the state of US education. We realize that to make real change in the US education system, it is going to take the voices of parents. Teachers, students, faculty, administrators and policy makers have to stand united against the failing of our schools.

The Providence Effect Movement to Save American Schools has joined the online conversation and the fight for American Schools. We are engaging with policy makers and education advocacy power-players on LinkedIn, we’re tweeting education movement headlines to our followers, and we’re talking with other Facebook members about what we can do to build our grassroots movement to save American schools.

Take the first step to join our drive to pick up the pace of all the advocates, educators, policy makers and families that are pushing for education reform and watch The Providence Effect on your local TVOne station this Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 12PM EST. Invite your friends, your neighbors, have your kids stay at home to watch the riveting story of Providence St. Mel school’s climb from struggling inner-city school to an educational powerhouse with 100% graduation rates and a community that works with the education system to build a better future for their kids based on hard work, determination and accountability.

Don’t have access to TVOne via your local cable company? Get the Providence Effect DVD here. Join us and BE HEARD!
