I was so proud tonight. Precious Director Lee Daniels, comedienne Monique (supporting actress honors) and Gabbie Sobourney (best actress honors) were the big winners during the NAACP Image Awards. Morgan Freeman won best actor honors for the film, Invictus. Filmmaker Tyler Perry received the organization's Chairman's Award and gave a moving speech about his journey and his mom who recently passed away.
It was a good show and a good year for such films as Skin, Big, The Blindside, Up In The Air, Invictus, Avatar, and The Princess and The Frog.
What I love about this show is despite obstacles thrown in our way; we still manage to perserve and get our goals accomplished.
