25,000 ZOO VISITORS BREAKS ....RECORD ATTENDANCE!
03.30.2010
Memphis, TN
What brought 25,000 citizens of Memphis and Shelby Counties to the Zoo? Was it the animals? Was it the snakes and reptiles? Was it the Zoo's FREE day? Exactly! During this week the zoo's attendance was met with a surge of people making their breaks to the Zoo Day. Overton Park was met with crowds of Memphis people of all ages! Crowds swarmed the streets and the park lawns. Many had to park blocks away just to walk up to the entrances. The Memphis Police Department was called in to help in administrating crowd control. Even with enforcements there were some distrubting of fights and some one in the huge crowd fired gun shots. The overly rambongous crowds had to thinned out --so the zoo temporaily closed but re-opened to finish out the day. Zoo officials said they will be looking at ways to provide better crowd control in the future free zoo day visits. However they were particulary glad to hear about the enormous attendance...But these are the breaks....
That's the breaks....that's the breaks....
X-52 OIL CAUSES BREAK DOWNS ....
03.31.2010
Memphis City officials have found that the X-52 oil they've been using in their garbage trucks may be the cause also of several costly break downs. The Memphis Public Works contend that the oil additive cost taxpayers and estimated $45,000 dollars annually. Damage to trucks include oil pumps and filtrations systems. The original contract of 2007 came with a warranty that the oil additive would increase mileage and long life to the vehicles life. Now it appears for the most part the X-52 will be no longer be used in the operations of the garbage trucks ....
...but these are the breaks.
