This is Lloyd Marcus, "black conservative," performing his “American Tea Party Anthem” at a Tea Party rally in Boston. He puts on a shameless display of minstrelry on behalf of a crowd that called John Lewis a ni&&er in DC and spit on congressmen, call Obama "racist," "nazi," and who knows what else, and whose members never seem to miss an opportunity to show the world that racism is at the root of their protest. Yet this clown travels with them, fronting their despicable movement. At one point in the song, he screams "we don't want no health care," which is just typical of these ignoramuses who would rather continue to be shafted out of their premiums even as the health care companies deny them care when they need it most before they support a president working to help people, just because he's black! Yet another example of the absurdity of race.

Man...you guys are a tough crowd.
I'll tell you what...
Speaking as someone who is not AFrican-American, one of the qualities I have observed over the years among Black Americans is that they are FIERCELY independent thinkers. I have personally known many black folks, friends, colleagues, men and women, who are not afraid to call things as they see them and do not hesitate to speak their minds.
I find that highly admirable.
That is why the African-American community can produce a Thurgood Marshall and a Clarence Thomas. If they could talk to each other, they would not agree on much--but both of them would have thoughtful, well-reasoned opinions to present their cases.
Now I don't know this guy. I dont' know where he is coming from. And I don't agree with him either. And I don't understand HOW he can arrive at his opinions. It makes no sense to me. But I will be willing to bet that he has come against some serious flack from his own community. But he still maintains the courage of his convictions.
I take my hat off to the guy. Even while I think he is dead wrong.

Thank you for sharing your point of view on this.
I am a fan of Spike Lee and I have seen most of his movies, especailly his early ones.
But I never saw that one. Bamboozled. I will have a look at that trailer and see if I can get hold of the entire film.

I happen to have a copy of Bamboozled on DVD. One of my college professors required that we watch it. It is a very powerful film and the racism portrayed in the movie will no doubt blow your mind.

I do remember Spike Lee calling that kind of black produced comedy as "minstrel shows".
I liked IN LIVING COLOR. One of my favorite sketches was the one about he West Indian who considered any man a failure if he only had 6, 7, 8 jobs.
I worked in West Indian neighborhoods here in Brooklyn with lots of West Indian families and I know how hard they worked to support their families. Among both the husbands and wives and single mothers--having two jobs was almost normal. So it was good to see a spoof that actually was good natured teasing rather than nasty stereotyping.

Mozell, It is often my experience that a lot of people too often do things for instand pleasure with the idea that if it goes badly it will be the other person who gets the bad results and not ME...which usually leads to long term pain...
"I" also realize that we do what we believe to be the right thing AT THAT TIME...
AND WITH THISALWAYS IN MIND, I TRY TO DO THINGS OFF THE BEATEN PATH JUST TO GIVE SOMEONE a CHANCE TO DO THEIR OWN THINKING... therefore if "I" were ever to have a chance to dialogue with this person, or any person of color like him, I would say, "so you are in full agreement with me on Dr. M.L. King should have never been given that Noble Peace Prize"!!!
Mozell, "I" promise you, you will be told by that person why you are dead wrong! (smile)

Clark, here is something I need you opinion on because as Siebra said, "just when I thought I had seen it all.....
what are the major players in the teaparty movement/ backers doing...already before noon on this tax day I heard this...Pat buchannan saying taht the best thing we cando to help our coutry is to stop trying to support our military empire and we can begin by bring our troops home to save all of tis money we spend on wars....
Senater Brown saying he is now going to join with our president in bringing regulations to big business and banks...I am afraid to even believe this is happening inour country on tax day and so close to April 19. (smile)

rICH, DON'T FEEEL OUT OF PLACE BECAUSE SO MANY OF US HAVE NO IDEA HOW WE ARE MADE OR DUPPED OR BRAIN WASHED TO KEEP OUR OWNSELVES DOWN...what I am talking about is movies like shaft was more accepted by us and by the public at large, because we have been so use to Black explotation movies...and one of the rreasons I can not bring myself to watch any black comedy tv series...we are only reenforcing the next geneeration of all colors to remain in the state of blacks or either violent or just silly...name me one tv series where a black is a star taht is not in teh silly state...we have only moved up to the co-star state if it involves some kinds of violence/ murder, rape, sheding blood is involved and we just believe OH LOOK HOW FAR WE HAVE COME...AND YET we fight tooth and nail when they say we are what VIOLINT-DISTRUCTIVE..."i" WONDER WHERE THEY GET THIS FROM?!?

Rich, you probably confused by Living color, because it started out as Black comeny which is funny, laugh out loud funny...but they went from having progams tah were black funny one week and White silly can laughter funny the next week and then they were gone...the cosby show was Black funnny...much like spike was trying to explain there is a difference in Black and Black explotation...(smile) Much like a history taht says slaves can not read and white and anothr says they could...take bungy jumping, when done in Africa as a boy to man ritual it was agsinst God...when done by Whites in America it is called WHAT???(SMILE)

Now brother Cow I will tell you a true story that happened in one of my Black history classes after the showing of DO THE RIGHT THING ...
after showing the movie professor P. Turner (she writes books and has been given awards for her films on PBS) she asked all in the class whounderstood this move raise their hands...only the black students raised their hand...this was my introduction to the topic we would be studing for the next 10 week school term at UCD...THE DIFFERENCE IN BLACK EXPLOTATION MOVIES THAT IS SO 'NORMALLY EXPECTED" THAT THE PUBLIC AT LARGE WAS UNAWARE / ABLE TO UNDERSTAND NONBLACK EXPLOTATION MOVIES...this is why I used Shaft and black tv star(S)ing roles by Blacks.
AND I N-O-W FEEL COMPOUNDED TO BRING IN THE BEST CONGRESS TAHT LOBBY MONEY CAN BUY IS ALSO A SOCIAL NORM IN OUR COUNTRY
