MINNEAPOLIS (The Borowitz Report) - In a sign of his increasing prominence in the so-called Tea Party movement, a new poll shows Kentucky senatorial candidate Rand Paul topping former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin among voters who describe themselves as morons. In the poll, conducted by the University of Minnesota’s Opinion Research Institute, 42% preferred Paul, 36% preferred Palin, and the remaining 22% were unsure what the word “prefer” meant. According to Davis Logsdon, who supervised the poll for the University of Minnesota, Paul’s surging popularity among morons is bad news for Palin, who previously had a lock on that important constituency. “I never thought I’d say this, but if Palin is going to stay competitive with Paul, she’s going to have to start dumbing down her message.”

Fun, huh!!! Enjoy it while it lasts--until the next Democratic screwup. Now I am really concerned about the rising level of anger at the administration for the BP oil disaster. I think they are doing everything they reasonably can. But BP is trying as hard as they can to deflect as much blame and responsibility as they can. People expect too much from the government. And meanwhile, the oil is still gushing. People are legitimately angry and government is the convenient lightning rod .

"Obama should have come down like a sledgehammer on BP, and left absolutely no room for them to do anything other than accept full responsibility. This is not the government's fault." Clark--I absolutely agree. But just now on the news I heard a segment about this very issue, the increasing frustration with the government's ineffectual response. The commentator was saying that the reason why the government is allowing BP to take the lead in cleaning upt he mess has to do with the law. Apparently, the law requires it. I would like to find out more about that, For example--why can't the federal gove/t declare some kind of emergency. Would that mean that Bp will be relieved of financial responsibility as well? It is tricky and highly frustrating situation. But there is a bottom line here and the administration isn't getting it done.

That sound you hear, Irma, is the sound of the entire REpublican establishment backpedalling as fast as they can. They are suddenly realizing there is a disconnect between rigid ideology and practical problem solving that people want.

And Irma--did you hear how Sarah Palin is calling your girl RAchel 'PREJUDICED...?" She--and he, himself, and many of their supporters--attributes his media problems not to his out of touch and out of date ideas, but to the liberal media bias.

Rich, I have full and total confidence thAT noew we have someone in the whitehouse at last that is doing every thing for the long term (unlike BP or not giving the AMERICAN TAXPAYERS THEIR ,TAX PAYED ALREADY, WORTH that so far has only gone to build themm mansions all over the planet)... like us ( the American local communitys and our oeacan shores) coming to better terms than having one side saying taht trying to help this country with a stimilus pacake / healthcare bill was a threat by this administration to our grandchildren of the future, but not this kind of pollution ?????!!!?... when our BIG GOVERNMENT steps into this matter directly will we have one side in CONGRESS FOR OR AGAINST THE BIG BUSINESS "mentality "LEFT OVER FROM THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION/ 24-7 media coverage on how OUR PRESIDENT THAT SOCIALIST, ILLEGAL ALIEN TO be STOPped from TRYING TO LEAD OUR GOVERNMENT TO TOTAL DEMOCRATIC, ECONOMIC COLLASP...?????!!!!!? OR is THIS only more of my ONE SIDED FAITH IN OUR PRESIDENT IS A STREET FIGHTER WHO IS OUT TO PROTECT MAIN STREET AND NOT WALL STREET. (SMILE)

Yes Clark, but pushing this story will not do any good nor change any of the way we mostly think ABOUT THE MEANINGS OF RESPONSIBALITY, EXAMPLE, what part of this mine dister will be placed on tose minesrs being forced to work under unsaf and life contitions or be fired,,,remember we mostly believe that that is going to happen to everyone but me, or this rig played no part in our president's announcement on drilling of our shores. amd I correct on this?!? (smile) like right now on fox they are debating how wrong it is to prostes outside of a bankeer's home because he has samll children!!!D-U-H...like burning crosses on the lawns of private homes by men on horses under white robes is not legally free speech only becausw there are no samll children or infant children in these homes?!? ONLY IN AMERICA do we so resist truth and fcts, ect. and now to me this is not about racism it is about our Constitution (smile)

You know I had not realized until today that those on the right even the TeaParty don't seem to want to celebrate this R.P's victory...in fact it is hard to even be able to find any one representing the right conservatives to after the R.P. LANDSLIDE TO EVEN COME OUT INTO THE PUBLIC NOT EVEN TO SAY A BAD WORD ABOUT OUR PRESIDENT AND EH PRESIDENT OF MEXICO AS THEY WOULD HAVE DONE IF NOT FOR THIS... anyone had any right-wing sightings lately? LOL ? (smile) I did see Wolf Blitzer do a high rating if underhanded thing today...Blitzer had an interview with Paul and an interview with the (D) who will be running against him in the senate election...he asked the man runnig against Paul if he would come on situation Room and do a debate with Paul, of which his answer was an expected "YES", so now how will Paul be able to turn this down?!? Do you believe there is anyway Palin , Limbaug, Fox can not back Rand Paul?!? or are they now going to promote the person against their chosen pick in this state R.P?!? Rich, the way those on teh right are going what would be recognized on the Left as a screw up in NOv. ? lol (smile)

Rich, Rich, Rich...it just hit me that Palin is only as good to the public at large the more use she can be as a right-extremest spokes person...what does a rating like this do for her in the future or will this let a lot of people under contract to her off the hook???? example, dispite all of the up roar in Arizona she stuck by that governor who is soing what the teaparty is doing...the teaparty has taken credit for getting senater Brown elected so will Palin have to go campaign for Paul?!? and, if not then what is going to happen to her creditality with the teaparty...hell, I know they don't want to send anyone out there from Congress for Paul so who is the big name they can send...poor things with all of the press about the two of them,,,oh, well that's politics. rICH, i BELIEVE THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS HOW CAN THEY DEMAND THAT BIG GOVERNMENT STAY OUT OF PRIVATE BUISNESS AND STILL TAKE OVR THIS OIL SPILL... which please help me with my way of thinking some of the things our presendant adminsitation is doing / not soing... I just learned taht the $1. something billion det has been for given by our government...and in my mind it has something to do with the money nonlimit our government is trying to put on BP for this spill...another way of putting or pitting those on teh right about what is big government when it comes to helping its own business v BP which does not even pay income taxes in this country.... Rich do you see where I am coming from on this????? let the republicans eat their own words while the teaparty tries its best to eat those nonPure conservatives as a intity whole.(smile)

Rich, no I had not heard this...I did hear one person on th right say that R.P's problem was he should have nnot go on R.M's program, but the argument going in this direction ended when the statement was made...since he had announced his plans to run for the senate was done on her program why not go there after he wins?!? after listening to you, I hope R.M. continues to be a lady when it comes to Palin. Palin don't need any help in self distruction lol (smile)

Now to the endless pit both republicans running for govenor in our state is digging in what I believe is a first in a governor's race... NOw here is the anger of the race of the two reublicans running attacks ads against each other : the female has spent $68 million, the male $24 million, their Dem. opponent former governor Brown has only been collecting campaign money and has not run one ad...is this a first or is this a first as we vote here on June 8!!!!!! I so hope Clark gets to see this. looooooooooooooool but, I am sure this has never happened before in politics for th eoffice of governor.or maybe any office in government! (smile)
